The 2009 film Leslie, My Name Is Evil ( released in some countries under the titles Manson Girl and Manson, My Name Is Evil ) is partially based on Van Houten's early life and stars actress Kristen Hager as Van Houten.

The four " family " members who had participated in the Tate murders, Charles " Tex " Watson, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel and Linda Kasabian, were again summoned by Manson along with Family members Leslie Van Houten and Steve " Clem " Grogan.

Within a few minutes, Leslie Van Houten and Patricia Krenwinkel entered the residence upon Manson's orders and were instructed to do everything Watson said, they then were told by Watson to go to the bedroom.

This time joined by Leslie Van Houten and Steve Grogan, the group set off into the city, eventually coming to the LaBianca residence in Los Feliz.

Kasabian was called back to Los Angeles County several times after the first trial: she was a witness against Tex Watson in his separate trial in 1971, and also against Leslie Van Houten in her two retrials in 1977.

On the night of August 10, 1969, Manson drove Leslie Van Houten, Watson, Krenwinkel, Atkins, Steve Grogan, and Linda Kasabian to an address in Los Feliz, the home of Rosemary and Leno LaBianca.

Ronald Hughes ( March 16, 1935 – c. November 1970 ) was a court-appointed attorney who represented Manson family member Leslie Van Houten and an alleged Manson family murder victim.

Prior to representing Leslie Van Houten in the Tate-LaBianca murder trial, Hughes failed the bar exam three times before passing and had never tried a case.
