Stella decides to ruin the ball so she can stay with Archie, but Lexie saves the day by correcting all the things Stella ruined and tells Archie to speak to Stella.

Stella tells Lexie and Archie the truth, then leaves Glenbogle, which is now under Archie's lairdship again.

After being asked by her nurse Lexie Coop ( Ashley Judd ) what she will name her baby girl, Novalee decides to name her baby Americus ( because Moses suggested Novalee to give her baby a strong name ).

Novalee gets to know Lexie, who reveals that she has had four children by three different men ( and that Lexie named her children after snack names ; Brownie, Praline, Cherry, and Baby Ruth ).

Novalee permits Lexie and her now five children to live with her and Americus in their new house.
