Jay Anthony Lukas, or J. Anthony Lucas ( April 25, 1933 – June 5, 1997 ), was a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist and author, probably best known for his 1985 book Common Ground: A Turbulent Decade in the Lives of Three American Families.

Lucas Holstenius was the Latinized name of Lukas Holste ( 1596 – February 2, 1661 ), German Catholic humanist, geographer and historian.

Despite the original group's premature break-up, many of its members found considerable success elsewhere: founding member John Felice formed the seminal Real Kids, Jerry Harrison later joined Talking Heads, David Robinson co-founded the Cars, and Ernie Brooks would later work with David Johansen, Arthur Russell, Elliott Murphy, and Gary Lucas.

In June 1835, Lucas dispatched a delegation consisting of U. S. Attorney Noah Haynes Swayne, former Congressman William Allen, and David T. Disney to Washington D. C. to confer with President Andrew Jackson.

They are known from writings of 16th-century chroniclers Erasmus Stella, Simon Grunau, and Lucas David.
