In 1982 Anni-Frid Lyngstad had sold all the shares in the Polar Music company given to her by Anderson, as she moved abroad.

In early 1947, Lyngstad, her mother, and her maternal grandmother, Arntine Lyngstad (" Agny "), left her birthplace, fearing reprisals against those who had dealings with the Germans during the occupation.

Lyngstad was taken by her grandmother across the border to Sweden, where they settled in the region of Härjedalen and her grandmother took any job she could find.

Lyngstad was raised solely by her grandmother.

Close contact with her family in Norway ( notably her uncle and four aunts ) continued, and Lyngstad recalls with warmth summer holidays spent with them at her birthplace.

Lyngstad stated in several interviews that her grandmother frequently sang songs to her ( notably old Norwegian songs ), which resulted in her love for music.

Although her grandmother encouraged her to sing ( according to Lyngstad herself ), she never attended any of her performances.

At first, Lyngstad was hesitant to perform with her boyfriend Benny Andersson, his best friend Björn Ulvaeus and his girlfriend, Agnetha Fältskog.

In 1992, Lyngstad performed live at the Stockholm Water Festival at the Kings Castle and released the environmental charity single with her cover of Julian Lennon's song " Saltwater ".

In 1996, Lyngstad recorded her Swedish language album Djupa andetag ( Deep Breaths ).

In 1988, Lyngstad became a grandmother when her daughter, Ann Lise-Lotte, gave birth to a son named Jonathan.

Anni-Frid Synni " Frida " Lyngstad was born in Bjørkåsen, a small village in Ballangen near Narvik, in northern Norway, to a young Norwegian girl and a German soldier, Alfred Haase ( 1919-January 2009 ), just before the end of the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway.

A few months later, Lyngstad met Haase in Stockholm for the first time.

For the 2004 semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest, staged in Istanbul thirty years after ABBA had won the contest in Brighton, Lyngstad appeared in a special comedy video made for the interval act, entitled Our Last Video.

Lyngstad dedicated a song on her most recent compilation album to MacColl, " Chemistry Tonight ", which MacColl had co-written.

Balavoine ’ s songs have been interpreted by many artists, for example Catherine Ferry for whom he wrote near 20 songs, Jeanne Mas, Liane Foly, Frida Lyngstad, Lena Ka, Johnny Hallyday, Pascal Obispo, Patrick Fiori, Florent Pagny, Grégory Lemarchal, as well as Marie Denise Pelletier ( from Quebec ) who had an enormous success with her own rendition of the song " Tous les cris, les SOS " in 1987.

By the time of the album's release Lyngstad had been signed to EMI / Columbia for four years.

Anni-Frid Lyngstad was a compilation album released by EMI in 1972, after Lyngstad had had her first Svensktoppen number one, " Min Egen Stad ", a Swedish language version of the Hep Stars track " It's Nice To Be Back Again ".

Lyngstad also joined Lord on stage singing the song during his European autumn tour in 2004.

The most famous of Norway's war children is former ABBA singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad, now Princess Anni-Frid Reuss of Plauen.

On 15 March 2010, Andersson appeared on stage in New York with former wife Anni-Frid Lyngstad to accept ABBA's award of induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In 1983, Lyngstad assisted with Abbacadabra, and recorded one of the tracks with two different male vocalists in different languages, including Frenchman Daniel Balavoine on the track " Belle " and on the English version " Time " with B.

Lord and Lyngstad made several TV appearances in Germany performing the song, on shows like The Sunday Night Classics and The Golden Henne Gala.

Also in 2004, Lyngstad appeared with former band mates Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus at London's fifth anniversary performance of Mamma Mia !, the musical based on ABBA songs.

He collaborated with former ABBA superstar and family friend, Frida ( Anni-Frid Lyngstad ,) on the 2004 track, " The Sun Will Shine Again " ( with lyrics by Sam Brown ) and performed with her across Europe.

Fältskog and Lyngstad recorded the vocals on sessions in September, and the track was completed three months later.

During the sessions, Benny Andersson brought a tape home with the backing track on it and played it to his then-fiancée and band member, singer Anni-Frid Lyngstad, who apparently started crying when listening.

In 1993, in honor of Swedish Queen Silvia ´ s 50th birthday, Anni-Frid Lyngstad was asked to perform " Dancing Queen " on stage, repeating ABBA's 1976 performance of the song at the wedding reception of King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia.

På Egen Hand is a compilation released in Sweden in 1991 by Anni-Frid Lyngstad, released on CD only.

Andersson was engaged to Anni-Frid Lyngstad of ABBA for about nine years.

Later, in 1972, he began managing Anni-Frid Lyngstad, and finally in 1976 Agnetha Fältskog ( until December 1975, Fältskog was still bound to Cupol / CBS Records under a contract ).

Unbeknownst to Lyngstad, the winner of the contest was also expected to appear the same evening in the country's most popular TV show at that time, Hylands Hörna.

The song, with lead vocals by Anni-Frid Lyngstad, was the last to be written and recorded for this album.

The album was recorded in the same period as her bandmate Anni-Frid Lyngstad made her Swedish number one album Frida ensam-and both were recorded between sessions and a very busy promotion schedule for the ABBA albums Waterloo and ABBA.

" Fernando " was not originally released as an ABBA song but by Anni-Frid Lyngstad.

The album was a huge success in Sweden, and Lyngstad was awarded with a platinum disc.
