Despite opposition from Lysander, after the battle Pausanias the Agiad King of Sparta, arranged a settlement between the two parties which allowed the reunification of Athens and Piraeus, and the re-establishment of democratic government in Athens.

* The Spartans arrange for two armies, one under the Spartan general Lysander and the other under the Spartan King Pausanias, to rendezvous at and attack the Boeotian city of Haliartus.

* The ephor, Lysander, claims to have seen a sign from the gods against King Leonidas II of Sparta so Leonidas flees to avoid his trial.

Within a few years, the Fleet swears allegiance to King Lysander I of Sparta.

When Demetrius and Lysander decide to rest again, Oberon, King of the Fairies, commands Puck to right the situation.

Waller remained with Tree for three years, playing a wide range of roles, including romantic leads in popular costume dramas and, in Tree's lavish Shakespeare productions, Laertes in Hamlet, Brutus in Julius Caesar, Faulconbridge in King John and Lysander in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

Finally, with the CoDominium in collapse and all Earth authority vanished, the Generals and Admirals acclaim Lysander, now King of Sparta, as Imperator.

Agis is supported by his wealthy mother and grandmother ( who surrender their property ), by his uncle Agesilaus, and by Lysander, who is an ephor ( magistrate with the duty of limiting the power of the king ).

He succeeded, however, in gaining over three very influential persons: his uncle Agesilaus ( a man of large property, but who, being deeply involved in debt, hoped to profit by the innovations of Agis ), Lysander ( a descendant of the victor of Aegospotami ) and Mandrocleides.

Lysander, therefore, convened the assembly of the people, to whom Agis submitted his measure, and offered to make the first sacrifice, by giving up his own lands and money, telling them that his mother, Agesistrate, and grandmother, who were both possessed of great wealth, with all his relations and friends, would follow his example.

Leonidas, who had returned to the city, fled again, to Tegea, protected from Agis by Agesilaus, who persuaded Agis and Lysander that the most effective way to secure the consent of the wealthy to the distribution of their lands, would be to begin by cancelling the debts.

His Persian-influenced lifestyle, his non-Spartan ( therefore foreign ) wife and his half-Spartan children would all be made issues by the ephor Lysander, the co-king Agis IV and their supporters.

Among the early influences on individualist anarchism were William Godwin, Henry David Thoreau ( transcendentalism ), Josiah Warren (" sovereignty of the individual "), Lysander Spooner (" natural law "), Pierre Joseph Proudhon ( mutualism ), Anselme Bellegarrigue, Herbert Spencer (" law of equal liberty "), and Max Stirner ( egoism ).

During this time Lysander managed to engage the Athenian fleet and they were routed by the Spartan fleet ( with the help of the Persians under Cyrus ) at the Battle of Notium in 406 BC.

* Aircraft for army co-operation and liaison and gliders were given names associated with mythological or legendary leaders ; e. g. Westland Lysander, Airspeed Horsa, General Aircraft Hamilcar, Slingsby Hengist.

Among those who visited this shrine to be initiated into the island cult were Lysander of Sparta, Philip II of Macedon and Lucius Calpurnius Piso Caesoninus, father-in-law of Julius Caesar.

That he studied general history, as we see from the quotations in Plutarch's lives of Lycurgus, Solon, Aristides, Pericles, Nicias, Alcibiades, Lysander, Agesilaus, and Demosthenes, which were probably borrowed from the work on Lives.

In the wake of Athens ' surrender, the long walls were torn down and the troops besieging the city returned to their various homes ; a Spartan garrison probably remained in Athens to supervise the dismantling of the walls ; Lysander sailed off to Samos to complete the siege of that city.

Thirty men were selected: ten appointed by the " overseers ", ten chosen by Theramenes ( including himself ), and ten picked by Lysander.

As the men appointed were loyal to Lysander rather than Sparta, this system has been described as Lysander's private empire.

His poetical efforts were not generally appreciated, although he received encouragement from his younger contemporary Plato ( Plutarch, Lysander, 18 ).

When Athens was defeated by Sparta at the end of the Peloponnesian War, the Melian survivors, who had been resettled by Sparta, were restored to their homes by the Spartan general Lysander.

If the Athenians were to avoid starvation, Lysander must be contained immediately.

Citing a previous Athenian atrocity when the captured sailors of two ships were thrown overboard, Lysander and his allies slaughtered Philocles and 3, 000 Athenian prisoners, sparing other Greek captives.

The fleet, now stationed at Chios, was in poor condition, Spartans at home were discouraged, and supporters of Callicratidas were displeased by the notion that his rival Lysander would rise to power again if the war were to continue ( Sparta's allies in the Aegean were demanding his return ).

The war continued, but Athens ' decision was to prove costly less than a year later when Lysander, in command of the Spartan fleet once more, decisively defeated the Athenian fleet at Aegospotami ; within two years of the dramatic Athenian victory at Arginusae, the city surrendered, its walls were torn down.

Notium, although not terribly significant in the number of ships won or lost by either side ( the gains made by the Spartan fleet were more than erased by their defeat at Arginusae ), had the significant effect of launching the career of Lysander and ending that of Alcibiades.

Other aircraft used in this role were the Hawker Henley, the Boulton Paul Defiant and the Westland Lysander.

Lysander Spooner's articles, such as No Treason and the Letter to Thomas Bayard, were widely reprinted in early anarcho-capitalist journals, and his ideas – especially his individualist critique of the state and his defense of the right to ignore or withdraw from it – were often cited by anarcho-capitalists.

In addition to questions of his nephew's paternity, Agesilaus ' succession was largely due to the intervention of his Spartan general, Lysander, who hoped to find in him a willing tool for the furtherance of his political designs.

Pausanias, the second king of Sparta ( see Spartan Constitution for more information on Sparta's dual monarchy ), was supposed to provide Lysander with reinforcements as they marched into Boeotia, yet failed to arrive in time to assist Lysander, likely because Pausanias disliked him for his brash and arrogant attitude towards the Spartan royalty and government.

These historians point towards the unstable oligarchies established by Lysander in the former Athenian Empire and the failures of Spartan leaders ( such as Pausanias and Kleombrotos ) for the eventually suppression of Spartan power.

At the end of the Peloponnesian War Lysander restored the scattered remnants of the old inhabitants to the island, which was used by the Spartans as a base for operations against Athens in the Corinthian War.

Plutarch is the source also for the story that the victorious Spartan generals, having planned the demolition of Athens and the enslavement of its people, grew merciful after being entertained at a banquet by lyrics from Euripides's play Electra: " they felt that it would be a barbarous act to annihilate a city which produced such men " ( Life of Lysander )

In regards to economic questions within individualist anarchism there are adherents to mutualism ( Pierre Joseph Proudhon, Emile Armand, early Benjamin Tucker ); natural rights positions ( Early Benjamin Tucker, Lysander Spooner, Josiah Warren ); and egoistic disrespect for " ghosts " such as private property and markets ( Max Stirner, John Henry Mackay, Lev Chernyi, later Benjamin Tucker, Renzo Novatore, illegalism ).

* Lysander sails to Samos and conquers it for Sparta.

Lysander was appointed Spartan navarch ( admiral ) for the Aegean Sea in 407 BC.

Alcibiades was appointed commander-in-chief with autocratic powers and left for Samos to rejoin his fleet and try and engage Lysander in battle.

Hoping to restore the juntas of oligarchic partisans that he had put in place after the defeat of the Athenians in 404 BC, Lysander arranged for Agesilaus II, the Eurypontid Spartan king, to take command of the Greeks against Persia in 396 BC.

The Spartans arranged for two armies, one under Lysander and the other under Pausanias of Sparta, to rendezvous at and attack the city of Haliartus, Boeotia.

While the Roman biographer Cornelius Nepos charges him with " cruelty and perfidy ", Lysander – according to Xenophon – nonetheless spared the population of captured Greek poleis such as Lampsacus, perhaps in order to gain a useful reputation for mildness.

The theme of forbidden love is also present in A Midsummer Night's Dream ( albeit a less tragic and dark representation ) in that a girl, Hermia, is not able to marry the man she loves, Lysander, because her father Egeus despises him and wishes for her to marry Demetrius, and meanwhile Hermia and Lysander's confidant, Helena, is in love with Demetrius.

After the Battle of Aegospotami ( 405 BC ), Thasos again fell into the hands of the Lacedaemonians under Lysander who formed a decarchy there ; but the Athenians must have recovered it, for it formed one of the subjects of dispute between them and Philip II of Macedonia.

The Lysander army co-operation aircraft was displaced for reconnaissance as too vulnerable but found favour for specialist missions into occupied Europe carrying agents.

In July 404 BC, they summoned Lysander back to Athens, where he supervised the change of government ; an oligarchic politician, Dracontides, proposed in the council to place the government in the hands of thirty chosen men ; Theramenes supported this motion, and, with Lysander threatening to punish the Athenians for failing to dismantle the walls quickly enough unless they assented, it passed the assembly.

In the mid-19th century, Individualist anarchist Lysander Spooner wrote about the benefits of numerous small loans for entrepreneurial activities to the poor as a way to alleviate poverty.
