Malcolm manipulates Macduff, questioning his loyalty, facilitating his emotional responses, and testing to see how much Macduff ’ s, and perhaps the audience ’ s, morality can ultimately be compromised.
Macduff must decide whether he can accept Malcolm as an alternative to Macbeth.
This shows that rather than speaking truthfully about himself, Malcolm was simply testing Macduff to see where Macduff's loyalties were.
Therefore, Macduff is right in accepting Malcolm as king.
He does not speak in this scene, but he has returned to Scotland with the army of Malcolm and Macduff, and is shown along with those hailing Malcolm as the new king after the killing of Macbeth.
