The following year, Lanegan was featured as a guest vocalist in the Layne Staley and Mike McCready side project Mad Season.

Staley was also a member of the supergroups Mad Season and Class of ' 99.

Within a few weeks, the band changed its name to Mad Season.

Mad Season is an American rock supergroup formed in Seattle, Washington in 1994 by members of three popular Seattle-based bands: Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Screaming Trees.

Mad Season released only one album, Above, and is best known for the single " River of Deceit ".

After gaining more popularity, the band recorded its only album and changed its name to Mad Season, which is an English term for the time of the year when psilocybin mushrooms are in full bloom, and a term which McCready related to " the seasons of drinking and drug abuse.

McCready said, " We did all the Mad Season music in about seven days.

In 1996, a live version of " River of Deceit " surfaced on the Bite Back: Live at Crocodile Cafe compilation album, although by this time Mad Season had long been dormant from live work as McCready and Martin went back to work with their respective bands and Saunders joined The Walkabouts.

" Babylon " was performed in the Mad Men episode of the same name Babylon_ ( Mad_Men )# ep6 despite the fact that the song would not be released until 10 years after the time in which the episode is set.

In place of less easily available tin, arsenic was added to copper in the Bronze Age to harden it ; like the hatters, crazed by their exposure to mercury, who inspired Lewis Carroll's famous character of the Mad Hatter, most smiths of the Bronze Age would have suffered from chronic poisoning as a result of their livelihood.

It's also unknown if this would be considered a Mad Season or Disinformation album, and also whether McCready and Martin have plans to permanently revive Mad Season or go ahead with their plans to form Disinformation.
