Kang and Kodos demand that the Simpsons give Maggie to them, and Kang and Homer start to fight over Maggie until Bart stops them and tells them there's only one place where something this bizarre can be resolved: The Jerry Springer Show, where Kang gives Marge a bouquet of flowers and Homer attacks him.

Eventually, Marge and Lisa stops Homer and calms him down.

Marge, appalled by this, starts crying, and when this is shown on the Jumbotron, the fighting stops and the Sea Captain suggests that everyone should sing a sweet, soothing hymn like Canada's national anthem instead of a " hymn to war " like The Star-Spangled Banner.

Marge has tolerated their criticism, but has occasionally lost patience with them, once referring to them as " ghouls.

In the episode " Burns ' Heir ", Hans is mistaken for Bart and accidentally " de-programmed " ( Homer and Marge had hired a cult de-programmer, hoping to convince Bart to move out of Mr. Burns ' mansion and back in with them ), apparently leading him to believe he is the son of Homer and Marge.

Lionel Hutz does not seem to care about conflict of interest ; in " A Streetcar Named Marge " he represents clients in a lawsuit against the producer ( s ) of a local production of A Streetcar Named Desire for not giving them any roles in the play, although he had a role himself.

As a result, Homer and Marge want to get rid of the dog, but Bart and Lisa convince them that he can be trained at an obedience school.

" In one episode, Homer runs out of gay couples to marry ; he speculates that Lenny and Carl might be interested, and Marge responds with " Don't you push them – they've gotta work that out for themselves.

She talks Marge into using them, attacking her inability to stop trying to be stronger, and also advises Marge to enter a women's bodybuilding contest.

Making fun of them, a January 2002 Simpsons episode called " Sweets and Sour Marge " included a scene involving Butterfinger bars being unable to be burned, with Chief Wiggum saying " even the fire doesn't want them.

Marge intervenes and confronts the house, demanding that it treat them with respect during their stay.

The episode opens with Marge standing on a stage in front of a curtain and warning parents about the content of the episode to come, advising them to put their children to bed.

They suddenly get a call from Marge, informing them that all is well: " Just checking in.

Marge and Homer see the children waiting for them outside their hotel room door, so they run away again, but Bart and Lisa are on their trail.

Homer and Marge are in Atlantic City when they spot the children once more, so they go on the run from them in an instrumental musical montage and an animated sequence.

Bart and Lisa confront them and Homer and Marge finally give up and allow the children to stay with them.

Homer and Marge, thinking the children are chasing them again, run from the pair to find refuge in a giant inflatable castle ( which is not a good idea, as it is under repair ), which their lovemaking antics cause to fall into the Niagara River.

Nelson's mother finds this out and does not want Marge giving them any " charity ".

As Homer and Bart are watching The Itchy & Scratchy Show, Marge tells them that the telephone company has charged the family hundreds of dollars for making phone calls to Brazil.

**" Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily ": Skinner uses " Sweet Georgia Brown " as an oath when he finds Bart and Lisa disheveled and suspects that it has something to do with Homer and Marge neglecting them at home.

Whilst cutting them, Marge accidentally severs Homer's thumb.

On the back of the photo-which shows them in the emergency room after Homer single-handedly ate the entire wedding cake before the ceremony -, Homer has written that, in return for Marge giving him her hand in marriage, he pledges his soul to her forever ; therefore, it was not his property to sell at the time of his deal with Ned.

In " Homer the Heretic " ( season four, 1992 ), Homer starts skipping church and Marge tells him " don't make me choose between my man and my God, because you just can't win.

He tells Marge that he might as well do a Voodoo dance for Abe Simpson when asked to give him the last rites.

But when she sees Lisa hiding her true feelings and being taken advantage of by her classmates, Marge changes her tune and tells Lisa to be herself.

Bart confronts Homer and Marge about the advertisement, who tells him that its revenue made a lot of money.

In " Hello Gutter, Hello Fadder ", Homer goes bowling but tells Marge that Lenny was hospitalized ; when Marge informs the kids, they respond the same way she did and shout, " Not Lenny !".

As she investigates a crop circle that recently appeared in Cletus Spuckler's crop field, Abraham Simpson tells Marge that the crop circle is an exact replica of the Buzz Cola logo.

* In the 19th episode of The Simpsons ´ ninth season, titled " Simpson Tide " originally aired on the Fox network on March 29, 1998, a reference to " The Clapper " is made where Homer tells his wife Marge that " We live in a highly technological age where fighting a war is as simple as turning off a light!

There, a character tells Marge Simpson a joke in which a genie promises to grant a man whatever he wishes, with the caveat that the man's wife's lover gets double whatever the man gets.

To cover him, Homer tells Apu to pretend that Marge is his wife.

Ruth, pretty buffed herself from her years as " Miss Mexican Mafia " in prison, tells Marge that she owes it all to steroids.

Later that night, at Moe's, Marge tells everyone at the bar that she is going to exercise and take more steroids so she will never come in second place again.

Terrified, Homer tells Marge that he misses the sweet, feminine woman he married.

Lisa finds Bart and tells him that the family has been kicked out of the casino after Homer pushed a waitress and Marge lost US $ 20, 000.

At the church council, Reverend Lovejoy tells Marge to use Christmas to bribe her back.

* Drederick Tatum tells Homer and Marge as they roll out of an elevator he is fighting a White Rhino at the Tropicana ( a real Atlantic City casino ) with shows at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & Midnight.

It is snowing heavily in Springfield, so Marge calls Homer at Moe's Tavern and tells him to come home.

In a scene in the episode, Homer tells Marge about all the jobs he has had, referencing several episodes of the series.

At the gay bar, Homer tells Grady and Julio that his relationship with Marge is low.

At Grimes ' funeral, Homer falls asleep and drowsily tells Marge to ' change the TV channel ', causing the attending mourners to laugh as the coffin is lowered into the grave.

The next morning, Homer tells Marge that he likes John and suggests they invite him and " his wife " over.

When Marge informs Homer, he tells her not to worry about the cost, as the union had won a dental plan during a previous strike.

Later, Homer tells Marge he is going to a bachelor party for a co-worker, Eugene Fisk.
