The combination of water and rail helped Brantford develop from a farming community into a blue collar industrial city based on the agriculture implement industry centred around companies such as Massey-Harris, Verity Plow and the Cockshutt Plow Company.

Massey was born in Toronto, Ontario, as the son of Anna ( née Vincent ) and Chester Daniel Massey, the owner of the Massey-Harris Co. ( predecessor company to the Massey-Ferguson Tractor Company ) and the patriarch of one of the city's wealthiest families.

McKay Company was granted exclusive Australian distribution of Massey-Harris machinery.

Massey-Harris merged with the Ferguson Company in 1953 and brought together their twin skills in harvesting machinery and tractor design to produce one of the world ’ s most powerful forces in farm equipment.

His paternal grandfather was president of Massey-Harris, the farm-machinery company.

By the next year, UofT's social and athletic facility was complete and dedicated in memory of Massey's grandfather, Hart Massey, as Hart House ; there, while he headed Massey-Harris Co., Massey participated as an amateur actor and director in the building's theatre.

The final generation of Massey-Harris tractors from immediately after World War II until the name change to Massey Ferguson in 1958 included the 25 horsepower M-H 22 series, the 35 horsepower M-H 33 series, the 45 horsepower M-H 44 series and the 55 horsepower M-H 55 series.

Construction was financed by Hart Massey of Massey-Harris ( later Massey Ferguson, before its ultimate principal shareholder director Conrad Black wound down its operations and retired its assets into the Varity Corporation ) holding company.

In 1953 Ferguson and Massey-Harris merged and the combined company Massey-Harris-Ferguson ( later shortened to Massey Ferguson ) became the manufacturer of the tractors and other designs.

Harry Ferguson merged his worldwide companies with Massey-Harris of Toronto in July 1953, three year before TE and TO20 production ended, hence the change of name on the serial plate to ' Massey-Harris-Ferguson '.

In mid 1953 Ferguson merged with Massey-Harris to become Massey-Harris-Ferguson.

Massey-Harris revolutionized grain harvesting in 1938 with the world's first self-propelled combine-the No. 20.

The Massey-Harris No. 21 Combine was commemorated with a Canada Post stamp on June 8, 1996.

Lawren Harris was born on October 23, 1885 to Thomas Morgan Harris and Annie J. Stewart ( daughter of pastor William Boyd Stewart ) in Brantford, Ontario into a wealthy family – the Harrises of the Massey-Harris industrialists.

Humble also tried marketing under Enco in Ohio, but Standard Oil Company of Ohio ( Sohio ) protested that the Enco name and logo ( a white oval with blue border and red lettering ) too closely resembled that of Esso.

Ford Motor Company, then-parent of the automaker Jaguar, believed that the Jaguars ' logo bore too much resemblance to the automaker's logo.

The BAR symbol now common in slot machines was derived from an early logo of the Bell-Fruit Gum Company.

It was three squares containing the letters " FBC " standing for " Fox Broadcasting Company "; however that logo only lasted for six months and was primarily featured at the beginning of The Late Show with Joan Rivers.

This image was the basis for the dog and gramophone logo used by several audio recording and associated brands: His Master's Voice, HMV, EMI, RCA, Victor Talking Machine Company, RCA Victor and JVC.

However, Transamerica was not pleased with UA's frequent releases of films rated X by the Motion Picture Association of America, such as Midnight Cowboy and Last Tango in Paris ; in these instances, Transamerica demanded the byline " A Transamerica Company " be removed from the UA logo on the prints and in all advertising.
