* 2009 – Merry Xmas From X

The album included 11 new recordings, featuring covers of Joni Mitchell's " River ", Gordon Lightfoot's " Song for a Winter's Night ", and John Lennon's " Happy Xmas ( War Is Over )", which she recorded with her outreach children and youth choir, and seasonal favourites: " Christmas Time Is Here ", " O Little Town of Bethlehem ", " Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ", " Silent Night ", " The First Noel ", and " Greensleeves ( What Child Is This?

The track " Merry Muthaphuckkin ' Xmas " features Menajahtwa, Buckwheat, and Atban Klann as guest vocalists, and " Neighborhood Sniper " features Kokane as a guest vocalist.

In the UK " Let's Party " was a Christmas hit with samples of Wizzard's " I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday ", Slade's " Merry Xmas Everybody " and Gary Glitter's " Another Rock ' N ' Roll Christmas ".

Total UK sales stand at 6, 520, 171, and their best selling single, " Merry Xmas Everybody ", has sold in excess of one million copies.

In 1973 alone, " Merry Xmas Everybody " sold over one million copies globally, obtaining gold disc status.

Powell, who'd suffered breaks to both ankles and five ribs, successfully recovered after surgery and was able to rejoin the band ten weeks later in New York, where they recorded " Merry Xmas Everybody " – in the middle of an August heatwave.

The Christmas-themed song " Merry Xmas Everybody " was Slade's last single of 1973 and became the band's last ever number one in the UK.

In December, RCA released " Merry Xmas Everybody " for the first time since its initial outing.

Lastly, " Merry Xmas Everybody " was again re-released, this time only managing to get to number 67.

" Merry Xmas Everybody ", again re-released, made number 20 that year.

" Merry Xmas Everybody " was also re-released, peaking at number 47 in the UK.

The final release of the year was another re-release of " Merry Xmas Everybody " which peaked at number 48 in the UK.

That same year, the rock band The Redbeards From Texas released a cover of the 1972 Slade hit, Gudbuy T ' Jane and in late 1986 ; " Okey Cokey " was re-released for the second time but failed to chart, whilst " Merry Xmas Everybody " was once again re-released, peaking at number 71.

1989 saw " Merry Xmas Everybody " make another new chart appearance, this time reaching number 99.

At the end of the year, " Merry Xmas Everybody " was again re-released and peaked at number 93.

In late 1990, both Holder and Lea produced a cover of " Merry Xmas Everybody " by the band The Metal Gurus, known mainly as The Mission.

During 1997, a new Slade compilation, Feel the Noize-Greatest Hits reached number 19 in the UK while the following year, a remix of " Merry Xmas Everybody ", released under the name Slade Vs.

In late 2006, UK chart rules changed to allow downloads of old singles eligible to chart which allowed " Merry Xmas Everybody " to return annually to the chart.

In November 2009, Universal Music released a new compilation entitled " Merry Xmas Everybody: Party Hits " which peaked at number 151 in the UK.

The band's 1973 Christmas single " I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday " has become something of an annual fixture on British radio and television ( along with Slade's " Merry Xmas Everybody " and, until his public fall from grace, Gary Glitter's " Another Rock n ' Roll Christmas ").

The group was signed to Ruthless Records in 1992 and made their debut on Eazy-E's EP, 5150: Home 4 tha Sick on the track entitled " Merry Muthaphuckkin ' Xmas ".

Slade are best remembered for the single " Merry Xmas Everybody " written by Holder and Lea.

" Merry Xmas Everybody " has remained seasonally popular ever since and is a festive classic.

* " Yes ", performed by Merry Clayton, composed by Neal Cavanaugh, Terry Fryer and Tom Graf ; this song peaked # 45 in 1988.

Also included on this disc were " Didn't I ", " Merry Christmas from the Family " and the new song " She Don't Tell Me To " ( also co-written by Rutherford, Shapiro and DiPiero ), which peaked at number 5 on the country charts in early 2006.

* 1965 – The infamous first Reyes party between Ken Kesey's Merry Pranksters and motorcycle gang the Hells Angels takes place at Kesey's estate in La Honda, California introducing psychedelics to the gang world and forever linking the hippie movement to the Hell's Angels.
