In Strumpshaw Fen is the RSPB Strumpshaw Fen nature reserve, and part of the Mid-Yare NNR National Nature Reserve.

It can be found in Hickling Broad and two National Nature Reserves: Mid-Yare NNR and Ludham-Potter Heigham NNR.

It is part of the Mid-Yare National Nature Reserve established in 1997 by English Nature ( though managed by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds ).

The North Norfolk Railway ( NNR )– also known as the " Poppy Line " – is a heritage steam railway in Norfolk, England, running between the coastal town of Sheringham and Holt, It cuts through the countryside to the east of Weybourne with views of its windmill and passes through the well preserved country station which also houses a locomotive shed together with a carriage maintenance and restoration centre.

It is located on the River Bure between Cockshoot Broad and Salhouse Broad, within The Broads National Park and close to Bure Marshes NNR ( National Nature Reserve ).

There are two National Nature Reserves within the parish ; the Ludham-Potter Heigham NNR is to the west of the village whilst the Heigham Holmes NNR is to the east.

Ant Broads & Marshes NNR is a National Nature Reserve in Norfolk, England established by English Nature.

Bure Marshes National Nature Reserve ( NNR ) is maintained by English Nature in Norfolk, England, within The Broads National Park.

Benacre NNR is a National Nature Reserve in the English county of Suffolk.

The broad is part of Benacre NNR, a National Nature Reserve established by English Nature.

Note that the large nature reserve at RSPB The Lodge, Sandy, is not classified as an NNR.

Ludham – Potter Heigham Marshes NNR is a National Nature Reserve established and owned by English Nature in Norfolk, England.

Holkham National Nature Reserve is England's largest National Nature Reserve ( NNR ).

Holkham NNR is important for its wintering wildfowl, especially Pink-footed Geese, Eurasian Wigeon and Brent Geese, but it also has breeding waders, and attracts many migrating birds in autumn.

Caerlaverock is a National Nature Reserve ( NNR ) covering part of the Solway Firth and the land south of Dumfries, in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.

Carerlaverock NNR is part of the Upper Solway Flats and Marshes, which is a Ramsar site and a European Union Special Protection Area for birdlife, and extends across the Solway to Cumbria.

The NNR is also part of the Solway Firth Special Area of Conservation, and is partly within the Nith Estuary National Scenic Area.

The Ant Broads & Marshes NNR is a National Nature Reserve.

It is part of the Ludham-Potter Heigham NNR, a National Nature Reserve.

The river runs through two Sites of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ), one of which is also part of a National Nature Reserve ( NNR ).

Lower down the river at Golitha Falls part of the woodland is designated a NNR and is within the Draynes Wood SSSI.
