Classical music was even adapted for disco, notably Walter Murphy's " A Fifth of Beethoven " ( 1976, based on the first movement of Beethoven's 5th Symphony ) and " Flight 76 " ( 1976, based on Rimsky-Korsakov's " Flight of the Bumblebee "), and Louis Clark's Hooked On Classics series of albums and singles.

The film grossed around $ 50 million ( US $ in dollars ) domestically, but was overshadowed by Eddie Murphy's Beverly Hills Cop.

Fred R. Shapiro, the editor of the Yale Book of Quotations, has shown that in 1952 the adage was called " Murphy's law " in a book by Anne Roe, quoting an unnamed physicist:

In May 1951, in Genetic Psychology Monographs volume 43, page 204, Anne Roe gives a transcript of an interview ( part of a Thematic Apperception Test, asking impressions on a photograph ) with Theoretical Physicist number 3: "... Murphy's assistant wired the harness, and a trial was run using a chimpanzee.

" Nichols ' account is that " Murphy's law " came about through conversation among the other members of the team ; it was condensed to " If it can happen, it will happen ," and named for Murphy in mockery of what Nichols perceived as arrogance on Murphy's part.

Based on Farley Jackmaster Funk's " The Acid Life ," this instrumental initially included vocal samples from Eddie Murphy's " Delirious " live set and was months later replaced by newer music, along with lyrics and vocals from Ya Kid K. prior to the song's international release in September 1989.

He also had a role in Eddie Murphy's Harlem Nights ( 1989 ).

Lela Rochon, who was known for her role in Murphy's 1989 film Harlem Nights, was brought back for a small role in Boomerang.

Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Hallam became a familiar face on British television, appearing in many film and television roles including Nicholas and Alexandra ( 1971 ), Murphy's War ( 1971 ), The Pallisers ( 1974 ), Flash Gordon ( 1980 ), Dragonslayer ( 1981 ), the BBC television adaptations of Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader ( 1989 ) and Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves ( 1991 ).

In an unrelated matter, the court had also granted the government's motion to dismiss Murphy's suit against the " Internal Revenue Service.

The location of the murder, in a loyalist stronghold, and the timing of the shooting to coincide with Murphy's movements suggest that the IRA received help from UVF members who deemed Murphy " out of control " or, equally plausibly, that information had been given by an enemy of Murphy's.

He was replaced by Eric " Chupacabra " Arce of Murphy's Law, who had previously filled in with the band for tours in 2000 and 2001.

The band then hired Murphy's Law drummer Eric Arce who had filled in for the band on various shows over the past ten years.

It is difficult to say whether this specific event had a negative effect on Murphy's reputation locally with the Confederate affiliated Masons, or if his subsequent election as Reconstruction governor incited retaliation against the two colleges being operated by Murphy.

By 1985, the New York hardcore scene had become inhabited by straight edgers and skinheads, including bands such as Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Heart Attack, Youth of Today, Warzone and Murphy's Law.

He said she had always refused any gifts or support from her rich lover, relying instead on Murphy's promise to marry her once he was divorced.
