NEOPLAN Bus GmbH is a German automotive company that manufactures buses, trolleybuses and coaches.

NEOPLAN is now a subsidiary of NEOMAN Bus GmbH, which itself is a part of MAN SE.

In 2001, NEOPLAN, or correctly, " Gottlob Auwärter GmbH & Co KG " was acquired by MAN AG subsidy MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG to form NEOMAN Bus GmbH.

As a result of the reorganisation and restructuring of the Bus Division, NEOPLAN will concentrate on production at its Plauen and Pilsting sites, with Plauen being used for luxury coaches, whilst Pilsting will concentrate on customisations.

The NEOPLAN Centroliner is a series of low floor bus which was first unveiled in 1997, and mainly built by NEOPLAN Bus GmbH for the European market.

A total of 193 NEOPLAN Centroliner double-deckers were introduced to Hong Kong by Kowloon Motor Bus ( KMB ) and New World First Bus ( NWFB ).

The US plants were later spun off into a separate, and now defunct, independent company ( Neoplan USA ) that used the NEOPLAN name under licence.

KMB received the first NEOPLAN Centroliner in September 1998, after the test-drive of the Neoplan Megashuttle in 1997.

Both Albrecht and Lee joined NEOPLAN after graduating from the university.

NEOPLAN vehicles, with their futuristic design and high quality construction, began to be imported in greater numbers.

NEOPLAN and MAN AG Buses now operate as two separate but integrated marques of MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group.

After the acquisition of NEOPLAN by MAN AG subsidy MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG, a new version of Centroliner full-size / articulated single-decker was launched, it was also known as NEOPLAN Centroliner Evolution.

NEOPLAN Centroliner was the third type of German double-decker introduced in Hong Kong ( the first being the Mercedes-Benz O305, and the second the MAN 24. 350 ).

After KMB put its first 20 Centroliners into service, NWFB announced the order of 30 NEOPLAN Centroliner N4426 / 3s in October 1999.

The NEOPLAN Centroliner is available in a range of styles and dimensions.

Bus services within the city are provided by Stadtwerke Konstanz GmbH.

On 1 February 2008, NEOMAN Bus GmbH was fully integrated into the Bus Division of the larger MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Group, and ceased to exist in its own right.

In 1987, Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG began selling portions of its different production lines to form separate companies, which included Steyr Nutzfahrzeuge AG ( SNF ) ( still based in Steyr ) for truck manufacturing, Steyr Bus GmbH ( in Vienna ) for bus manufacturing, Steyr-Daimler-Puch Fahrzeugtechnik AG ( SFT ) and the EUROSTAR joint venture in Graz-Liebenau for assembly of automobiles and, in 1990, Steyr Tractor ( Steyr Landmaschinentechnik AG ).

In 1995 Daimler-Benz Bus and Coach range and Kässbohrer Bus Division were combined to form the EvoBus GmbH.

The actual Knight Bus seen in the film adaptation was built by grafting the top deck of a London AEC Regent III RT bus onto the top of another " RT " bus.

In 2006, Tata formed a joint venture with the Brazil-based Marcopolo, Tata Marcopolo Bus, to manufacture fully built buses and coaches.
