Oregon Citizens for a Sound Economy was accused in 2004 of encouraging George W. Bush supporters to help get Ralph Nader on the ballot in Oregon.

Nader accused Rep. Melvin Watt ( D-N. C .) of twice uttering an " obscene racial epithet " towards Nader ; he alleged that Watt said: " You're just another arrogant white man – telling us what we can do – it's all about your ego – another f — king arrogant white man.

His nomination at first sparked controversy as Ralph Nader accused Quello of " being a pawn for broadcasters ".

Nader ran twice as the nominee of the U. S. Green Party ( in 1996 and 2000 ).
