** Nestor the Chronicler ( c. 1056-c. 1114 ), reputed author of the earliest East Slavic chronicle

The first recorded mention of the Nenets people is found in the 11th-century Primary Chronicle, a chronicle of Kievan Rus ' from about 850 to 1110, originally compiled in Kiev about 1113 by Nestor the Chronicler.

Saint Nestor the Chronicler ( c. 1056-c. 1114, in Kiev ) was the reputed author of the Primary Chronicle, ( the earliest East Slavic chronicle ), Life of the Venerable Theodosius of the Kiev Caves, Life of the Holy Passion Bearers, Boris and Gleb, and of the so-called Reading.

The account of the labors of Saints Cyril and Methodius among the Slavic peoples is also very interesting, and to Nestor we owe the tale of the summary way in which Vladimir the Great suppressed the worship of Perun and other traditional gods at Kiev.

Later, Nestor the Chronicler describes a state pantheon introduced by Prince Vladimir in Kiev in 980 CE.

The area was mentioned for the first time in 981 by Nestor, when Vladimir I of Kievan Rus took it over on the way into Poland.

This area was mentioned in 981 ( by Nestor ), when Vladimir the Great of Kievan Rus took the area over on his way into Poland.

The original Russian libretto, based on historical events, was written by Nestor Kukolnik, Georgy Fyodorovich Rozen, Vladimir Sollogub and Vasily Zhukovsky.

According to the two 11th century Lives of Boris and Gleb ( ascribed to Nestor the Chronicler and Jacob the Monk ), they were children of Vladimir the Great, who liked them more than his other children.

When Heracles took Pylos, Alastor and his brothers, except Nestor, were killed by him.

Left alone in the battleground, Diomedes took his stand before Nestor and ordered him to take Sthenelus ’ place.

When Amarynceus died, his sons celebrated funeral games in his honor, in which Nestor took part.
