In 2001, Carter collaborated with Black Star and John Patton to record " Money Jungle " for the Red Hot Organization's compilation album, Red Hot + Indigo, a tribute to Duke Ellington.

Some of those artists include Dubblestandart from Vienna, Austria ( who recorded the album " Return from Planet Dub " in collaboration with, and performs live with, Lee Scratch Perry ), Liquid Stranger from Sweden, New York City artists including Ticklah, also known as Victor Axelrod, Victor Rice, Easy Star All-Stars, Dub Trio ( who have recorded and performed live with Mike Patton, and are currently touring as the backing band for Matisyahu ), Subatomic Sound System ( who have remixed material by Lee Scratch Perry and Ari Up ), Dub is a Weapon, King Django, Boom One Sound System, Dr. Israel, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad from Rochester, NY, Heavyweight Dub Champion from San Francisco and Colorado, Ott from the UK who has released several influential albums through Twisted Records, Future Pigeon from Los Angeles, German artists like Disrupt and Rootah from the Jahtari label, and Twilight Circus from the Netherlands.

The album reached the top ten on the US charts, thanks largely to MTV's heavy rotation of the " Epic " music video, ( which featured Patton in a Mr. Bungle T-shirt ).

Singers Mike Patton ( Mr. Bungle, Fantomas, Faith No More ) and Melissa Auf der Maur ( ex-Hole, ex-Smashing Pumpkins ) were involved in recording sessions, but their contributions were not included on the final album (" Kool-Aid Party ", featuring Patton, has circulated on the internet ).

He, notably, also recorded with Patton in the group Faith No More on their 1995 album King for a Day ... Fool for a Lifetime.

Mike Patton also uses a great number of vocal effects boxes and samples throughout the album.

Brunetti also illustrated the cover of comedian Patton Oswalt's most recent album, My Weakness Is Strong.

In Bob Dylan's " High Water ( For Charley Patton )" on the album Love and Theft, the second part of the lyrics " Well, the cuckoo is a pretty bird, she warbles as she flies / I'm preaching the Word of God, I'm putting out your eyes " are a reference to Asa Hawks.
