First Contact is the first film in the Star Trek film series in which none of the Star Trek: The Original Series main characters appear, instead, the main cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation fill the main roles.

The cast recording of The Music Man won the first Grammy Award for Best Original Cast Album ( Broadway or TV ).

The Original Dixieland Jass Band ( ODJB ) were a New Orleans, Dixieland jazz band that made the first jazz recordings in early 1917.

The project was completed in 1981 with the recordings of Burlesque Variations on an Original Theme, and Two Herrick Songs, Requiem for the Rose and The Hag.

Since Sweatman can be heard making melodic variations even in his 1916 recordings, it might be argued that Sweatman recorded an archaic type of jazz earlier than the Original Dixieland band.

This band became the famous Original Dixieland Jass Band, making the first commercially issued jazz recordings in New York City in 1917.
