The passion of Osiris was reflected in his name ' Wenennefer " (" the one who continues to be perfect "), which also alludes to his post mortem power.

If they led a life in conformance with the precepts of the goddess Ma ' at, who represented truth and right living, the person was welcomed into the kingdom of Osiris.

Thus Osiris was identified explicitly with Apis, really an aspect of Ptah, who had already been identified as Osiris by this point, and a syncretism of the two was created, known as Serapis, and depicted as a standard Greek god.

It should be remembered, however, that this new myth was only a later creation of the Osirian cult who wanted to depict Set in an evil position, as the enemy of Osiris.

According to a spell in the Pyramid Texts, Set is taking revenge for a kick Osiris gave him, whereas in a Late Period text, Set's grievance is that Osiris had sex with Nephthys, who is Set's consort and the fourth child of Geb and Nut.
