Anubis is a son of Ra in early myths, but later he became known as son of Set and Nephthys, and he helped Isis mummify Osiris.

Usually, Anubis is portrayed as the son of Nephthys and Set, Osiris ' brother and the god of the desert and darkness.

During his final school years he began writing his poetry in notebooks, the first poem dated 27 April ( 1930 ), is entitled " Osiris, come to Isis ".

Osiris (;, also Usiris ; the Egyptian language name is variously transliterated Asar, Asari, Aser, Ausar, Ausir, Wesir, Usir, Usire or Ausare ) was an Egyptian god, usually identified as the god of the afterlife, the underworld and the dead.

Osiris is first attested in the middle of the Fifth dynasty of Egypt, although it is likely that he was worshipped much earlier ; the term Khenti-Amentiu dates to at least the first dynasty, also as a pharaonic title.

Most information we have on the myths of Osiris is derived from allusions contained in the Pyramid Texts at the end of the Fifth Dynasty, later New Kingdom source documents such as the Shabaka Stone and the Contending of Horus and Seth, and much later, in narrative style from the writings of Greek authors including Plutarch and Diodorus Siculus.

Osiris is represented in his most developed form of iconography wearing the Atef crown, which is similar to the White crown of Upper Egypt, but with the addition of two curling ostrich feathers at each side ( see also Atef crown ( hieroglyph )).

The crook is thought to represent Osiris as a shepherd god.

Osiris is the mythological father of the god Horus, whose conception is described in the Osiris myth, a central myth in ancient Egyptian belief.

This aspect of Osiris was referred to as Banebdjedet, which is grammatically feminine ( also spelt " Banebded " or " Banebdjed "), literally " the ba of the lord of the djed, which roughly means The soul of the lord of the pillar of stability.

As Banebdjed, Osiris was given epithets such as Lord of the Sky and Life of the ( sun god ) Ra, since Ra, when he had become identified with Atum, was considered Osiris ' ancestor, from whom his regal authority is inherited.

In contrast he argues that the ancient story of dying and rising in the divine, human and crops, ( with Osiris as an example ), is vindicated and reaches a conclusion in Christianity.

* The Fifth Day, Osiris is Reborn: Osiris is reborn at dawn and crowned with the crown of Ma ' at.

A statue of Osiris is brought to the temple.

Indeed, when the Myth of Osiris and Isis emerged, it was said that when Osiris had been killed by Set, Osiris ' organs were given to Anubis as a gift.

The myth described Osiris as having been killed by his brother Set, who wanted Osiris ' throne.

" A much later myth relates how Set killed Osiris, putting him in a coffin, and throwing it into the Nile, the coffin becoming embedded in the base of a tamarisk tree.

Once Isis knew she was pregnant with Horus, she fled to the Nile Delta marshlands to hide from her brother Set who jealously killed Osiris and who she knew would want to kill their son.

In Egyptian mythology, Set is portrayed as the usurper that killed and mutilated his own brother Osiris.

Set was envious of his brother, and he killed and dismembered Osiris.

As he now represented Osiris, when the Apis bull reached the age of twenty-eight, the age when Osiris was said to have been killed by Set, symbolic of the lunar month, and the new moon, the bull was put to death with a great sacrificial ceremony.

Another breed of supernatural creatures was ' slaughterers ' who killed the unrighteous on behalf of Osiris ; the Book of the Dead equipped its owner to escape their attentions.

In the myth of Osiris and Isis, Osiris was killed by Set by being tricked into a coffin made to fit Osiris exactly.

Sobek reveals a more horrifying side in 52 Week 43, when he convinced a distraught Osiris to change into his mortal form, then suddenly killed and devoured him.

They succeed, and Osiris is disgraced and exposed for having killed a Squad member, as Amanda Waller was filming the events, leading to the downfall of the whole Black Marvel Family, and a murderous rampage of Black Adam, dubbed World War III.

Osiris was killed by his brother Set who was incredibly jealous of his power.

Set was enraged and so he killed Osiris once again, but this time he chopped up his body into many parts and scattered them throughout Egypt.

At this time, Anubis was the most important god of the dead but he was replaced during the Middle Kingdom by Osiris.

In this manner, he was a Lord of the Underworld, only usurped by Osiris.

Dualism was first seen implicitly in Egyptian Religious beliefs by the contrast of the Gods Set ( disorder, death ) and Osiris ( order, life ).

Isis briefly brought Osiris back to life by use of a spell that she learned from her father.

This spell gave her time to become pregnant by Osiris before he again died.

The gods were impressed by the devotion of Isis and resurrected Osiris as the god of the underworld.

Osiris was then murdered by his evil brother Typhon, who was identified with Set.

The first phase of the festival was a public drama depicting the murder and dismemberment of Osiris, the search of his body by Isis, his triumphal return as the resurrected god, and the battle in which Horus defeated Set.

Much of the extant information about the Passion of Osiris can be found on the Ikhernofret Stela at Abydos erected in the 12th Dynasty by Ikhernofret ( also I-Kher-Nefert ), possibly a priest of Osiris or other official ( the titles of Ikhernofret are described in his stela from Abydos ) during the reign of Senwosret III ( Pharaoh Sesostris, about 1875 BC ).

In the Osirian temple at Denderah, an inscription ( translated by Budge, Chapter XV, Osiris and the Egyptian Resurrection ) describes in detail the making of wheat paste models of each dismembered piece of Osiris to be sent out to the town where each piece is discovered by Isis.

Next, the triumphant Henefer, having passed the test, is presented by the falcon-headed Horus to Osiris, seated in his shrine with Isis and Nephthys.

Thus Osiris was identified explicitly with Apis, really an aspect of Ptah, who had already been identified as Osiris by this point, and a syncretism of the two was created, known as Serapis, and depicted as a standard Greek god.

The worship of Isis and Osiris was allowed to continue at Philae until the time of Justinian, by treaty between the Blemmyes-Nobadae and Diocletian.
