Pierre-Charles Le Sueur became the first European to navigate the Minnesota River, and between 1683 and 1700 made explorations of the region on behalf of King Louis XIV of France.

The Ponca appear on a 1701 map by Pierre-Charles Le Sueur, who placed them along the upper Missouri.

The first European journal reference to the Omaha tribe was made by Pierre-Charles Le Sueur in 1700.

Twenty-seven British ships of the line led by Admiral Lord Nelson aboard defeated thirty-three French and Spanish ships of the line under French Admiral Pierre-Charles Villeneuve off the south-west coast of Spain, just west of Cape Trafalgar.

As a result, Vice-Admiral Pierre-Charles Villeneuve was the most competent senior officer available to command Napoleon's Mediterranean fleet.

Three notable works, all dating from the 1770s, " Apollo and Diana Attacking Niobe and her Children " by Anicet-Charles-Gabriel Lemonnier, " The Children of Niobe Killed by Apollo and Diana " by Pierre-Charles Jombert and " Diana and Apollo Piercing Niobe ’ s Children with their Arrows " by Jacques-Louis David belong to the tradition of French Baroque and Classicism.

Among other officers the French brigadier general Pierre-Charles Lochet was shot and killed.

Also of some significance were Pierre-Charles Marcel of France, Von Alamassy of Hungary, and later Hendrik G. Stoker in South Africa and Cornelius Van Til in the United States.

This statue had been made in 1633 by Hubert Le Sueur, in the reign of Charles I, but, in 1649, was ordered to be destroyed by Parliament.

He was encouraged in his endeavors by Jean-François Le Sueur, director of the Royal Chapel and professor at the Conservatoire.

In 1826 he began attending the Conservatoire to study composition under Jean-François Le Sueur and Anton Reicha.

Prior to this, he had defaulted to the dominant view of the Parisian music establishment, as typified by Le Sueur: that the symphony was a lesser form of composition that Mozart and Haydn had already taken as far as possible.
