On April 8, 2005, Austin Peay announced that it would be leaving the Pioneer Football League after the 2005 season and returning to scholarship-granting competition in 2007 with the Ohio Valley Conference in which it competes in other sports.

Shortly after launch at 07: 30: 00 UTC on November 8, 1958, the third stage of the launch vehicle separated but failed to ignite, and Pioneer 2 did not achieve its intended lunar orbit.

A total of 16. 8 million Laser disc players were sold worldwide, of which 9. 5 million of them were sold by Pioneer.

Although the spacecraft have not been regularly tracked for science data return in recent years, a successful telemetry contact with Pioneer 6 was made on December 8, 2000 to celebrate 35 years of continuous operation since launch.

To the north-east, Mount Dalrymple and Mount William are two separate peaks, which are the same height at 1, 259 m. Eungella is the lowest part of the range and looks over the Pioneer Valley to the east.

The only remaining pieces of evidence of the original settlements of Palmenthal and Harold are the old Palmdale Pioneer cemetery located on the northeast corner of Avenue S and 20th Street East, recently acquired and restored by the city as part of a future historical park, and the old schoolhouse now relocated to McAdam Park.
