Prince Souphanouvong ( July 13, 1909 — January 9, 1995 ) was, along with his half-brother Prince Souvanna Phouma and Prince Boun Oum of Champasak, one of the “ Three Princes ” who represented respectively the communist ( pro-Vietnam ), neutralist, and royalist political factions in Laos.

The Three Princes was a name given to Princes Boun Oum, Souvanna Phouma and Souphanouvong who represented respectively the royalist, neutralist and leftist factions in the Kingdom of Laos in the post-WWII period.

As his health worsened, Xianfeng's ability to govern also deteriorated, and competing court ideologies in court led to the formation of two distinct factions — one under the rich Manchu Sushun, Princes Yi and Zheng, and the other under the Concubine Yi, supported by Gen. Ronglu and Yehenala Bannermen.

There are lavishly restored historic buildings-such as the Princes ' House ( Prinzenhaus ), Old Swimming Baths ( Alte Schwimmhalle ), Clock House ( Uhrenhaus )-as well as shady avenues and old trees open to the public to stroll through and explore.

The line between Princes End and Ocker Hill closed to passenger trains in 1916 but remained open to goods traffic until 1980.

The road originally also included Princes Street, but this stretch was declassified, as Princes Street is no longer open to all traffic.

The Watlington line closed to passengers in June 1957, but remained partially open to freight traffic until 1989 and is now run by a preservation society between Chinnor and the outskirts of Princes Risborough ; the line to Thame and Oxford ran its last passenger train in 1963 ; the line through Bourne End to Maidenhead closed in 1970.

In 1963 British Railways withdrew passenger services between and Oxford and closed Thame station, leaving Princes Risborough ( 7 miles ) as the nearest passenger station until 1987 ( see below ) BR dismantled the track between Thame and, but kept the line between Thame and Princes Risborough open for goods traffic to and from an oil depot in Thame.

The house contains an original oak staircase which has an open balustrade with finial topped ovals and lozenges, very similar in design to the staircase at Princes Risborough Manor House.

Princes Street may be one of the few streets in the UK to have an order of Parliament placed on it to prevent any further building on the south side, so as to preserve its open vista.

The earlier Princes Park was laid out by Richard Vaughan Yates around 1840, intending it to be used as open space, funded by the grand houses to be constructed around its edge, as would later happen with Sefton Park.

The former Jack Miller's Hotel building at 78 Princes Street has been redeveloped and the refurbished building was completed in autumn 2010 and has been let out and is now open as an art gallery and artists studio space called Phoenix The Studio displays Scottish Art as well as holding art classes and demonstrations.

The freeway was originally constructed in the late 1960s and was open for traffic by 1971, stretching from the intersection of the Princes Highway and Little Boundary Road in Altona North ( later enlarged and named the West Gate Interchange ) eastwards to Melbourne / Williamstown Roads just west of the mouth of the Yarra, initially designated with an F-82 shield.

In the same decade the railway between Princes Risborough and Oxford closed, but the track between Kennington Junction and Cowley remains open for freight in and out of the car factory.

The other station, Princes End railway station, closed in 1916 under a wartime economy measure, although the line-which ran to Wednesbury-remained open to goods trains until 1981, with the final stub leading up to Ocker Hill Power Station remaining open until 1991.

Section three, from the Hamilton Highway to the Princes Highway at Waurn Ponds is expected to open in December 2009.

1980: Debenhams open a Princes St store

Apart from a street overlap to Esher, Claygate is surrounded by woodlands and open countryside, including Claygate Common, Princes Covert, Winney Hill, Surbiton Golf Course, Telegraph Hill, Littleworth Common and Arbrook Common.

A new terminal at Princes Dock is due to open in May 2012 to provide check-in, baggage drop and reclaim, as well as customs and border facilities for thousands of cruise liner passengers visiting the region, whilst Peel Ports have also planned a second cruise terminal as part of the Liverpool Waters project.

Originally a street party held on Princes Street and the Royal Mile, the Hogmanay event has been officially organised since 1993.

During the street party Princes Street is accessible by ticket only, with live bands playing, food and drink stalls, and a clear view of the castle and fireworks.

The Royal Mile is Edinburgh Old Town's busiest tourist street, rivalled only by Princes Street in the New Town.

He died in Edinburgh and is buried in St Cuthbert's Churchyard at the west end of Princes street.

The Princes Highway ( part of Australia's circumnavigational Highway 1 ) runs through the city and forms its main street, Murray Street.

Lygon Street is a street in inner northern Melbourne, Australia running through the suburbs of Carlton, Carlton North, Princes Hill and Brunswick East.

The Princes Square mall and a flagship branch of the House of Fraser department store are opposite one another further south, and the street meets Argyle Street at the south, just north of St. Enoch Square.

It was planned under the concepts of street hierarchy and has just one main arterial, Caroline Springs Boulevard, which feeds into both the Deer Park Bypass and the Western Highway in the south and connects to Melbourne via either the Western Ring Road or the Princes Highway.

Putaruru's main shopping street is Princes street and has a collection of Chemists, Hairdressers, Banks, retail stores, Bakery's, Butcher Shop, Pub, Video store, Mr Wong's Fish and chips and a Café.

The eastern end of the ornate Regent Bridge is built into the side of the hill, crossing a deep gorge ( at the bottom of which the opening scene from Trainspotting was shot ) to connect the hill with Princes Street, now Edinburgh's main shopping street.

The main street, Balgownie Road, connects the suburb to the nearby Princes Highway.
