It annually raises about 4 million Chinook ( King ) and Coho ( Silver ) salmon which then migrate from the Issaquah Creek to Puget sound and on to the North Pacific.

Shoreview and Boeing Creek Parks, which abut Shoreline Community College, contain a ravine through which flows Boeing Creek on its way to Hidden Lake and Puget Sound.

In British Columbia, the western geologic boundary of the North Cascades is defined as the Fraser River as it follows the Straight Creek Fault, while in the United States the western boundary is defined by the Puget Lowlands in the west, although there are significant westward extensions of rocks similar in origin to those in the North Cascades found in the San Juan Islands.

Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility ( PSNS & IMF ) is a United States Navy shipyard covering 179 acres ( 0. 7 km² ) on Puget Sound at Bremerton, Washington.

Often referred to as Puget Sound's Largest Artist's Colony, Whidbey is home to numerous working artists, writers, and performers.

Thus in Puget Sound itself, the names given by Wilkes are common and Spanish names rare, while the reverse is true for the San Juan and Gulf Islands ( although the Spanish did not explore Puget Sound as thoroughly as the British and Americans, resulting in fewer Spanish names to start with ).

Also there is a specimen of Elk in the Slater Museum of Natural History at the University of Puget Sound that was collected historically on Orcas Island, and old timers report finding elk antlers on both Lopez and Orcas Islands.

The highest peak in the massif is Mont Puget, 565 metres high.

Puget Sound is the narrower waters south of the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Olympia is a major cultural center of the Puget Sound region.

The Georgia Strait – Puget Sound basin is shared between British Columbia and Washington, and the Pacific temperate rain forests ecoregion, which is the largest of the world's temperate rain forest ecozones in the system created by the World Wildlife Fund, stretches along the coast from Alaska to California.

Snohomish County is bordered on the west by Puget Sound, except near Stanwood, where Davis Slough is the border between it and Camano Island, which is part of Island County.
