Oxnard, Calif., will be the home of the Rev. Robert D. Howard and his bride, the former Miss Judith Ellen Gay, who were married Saturday at the Munger Place Methodist Church.

The Rev. Melvin Carter officiated at the ceremony in Slaughter Chapel of the First Baptist Church.

Many north-south streets were named for United States presidents ( Washington, Adams, Madison, Monroe ), though Clinton Street likely honors 19th century politician DeWitt Clinton.

Because of the political position of George Clinton as Vice President at the time of Burrville's name change, compared to DeWitt Clinton's position as the mayor of New York City, most likely the residents of the town of Burrville would have been more readily identifiable and more honorable toward George Clinton than DeWitt ; therefore, it is most likely Clinton was named after George Clinton, barring historical proof.

Mitchill strongly endorsed the building of the Erie Canal, sponsored by his friend and political ally DeWitt Clinton ; they were both members of the short-lived New-York Institution.

DeWitt Clinton Cregier ( born: June 1, 1829 ; died: November 9, 1898 ; buried in Rosehill Cemetery ) served as mayor of Chicago, Illinois ( 1889 – 1891 ) for the Democratic Party.

Blessed Clemens August Graf von Galen ( March 16, 1878 – March 22, 1946 ) was a German count, Bishop of Münster, and Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church.

Clemens made one start in the World Series against the Florida Marlins ; when he left trailing 3 – 1 after seven innings, the Marlins left their dugout to give him a standing ovation.

His 3 – 0 record in the World Series includes a performance with New York down 2 – 0 in the 2001 series ; then, in Game 7, it was Clemens who matched Curt Schilling ; his start ( 6 innings, 1 run, 10 strikeouts ) was forgotten in the wake of the Diamondbacks ' famous ninth-inning comeback.

On February 13, 2008, Clemens appeared before a Congressional committee, along with Brian McNamee, and swore under oath that he did not take steroids ; that he did not discuss HGH with McNamee ; that he was not at a party at José Canseco's where steroids were the topic of conversation ; that he was only injected with B-12 and lidocaine ; and that he never told Pettitte that he had taken HGH.

As well, his name has been removed from the Houston-based Roger Clemens Institute for Sports Medicine ; it will be renamed the Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Institute.
