Raikes was born at Ladybellegate House, Gloucester in 1736, the eldest child of Mary Drew and Robert Raikes, a newspaper publisher.

Their oldest son Reverend Robert Napier Raikes had a son General Robert Napier Raikes of the Indian Army.

However, he was far from alone, as the Broncs ' rosters included Rick Monday, manager John McNamara, Vearl (" Snag ") Moore, Thorton (" Kip ") Kipper, Antonio Perez, Ron Koepper, Delmer Owen, Dick Green, Bud Swan, Bert Campaneris, John Israel, Dave Duncan, Al Heist, and as a player, later coach-manager Robert (" Gabby ") Williams.

In 1539 Robert adopted as his device an olive branch around which a serpent was twined, and a man standing under an olive-tree, with grafts from which wild branches were falling to the ground, with the words of Romans 11: 20, Noli altum sapere, sed time … (" Be not high-minded, but fear.

On the other hand, he was successful on the whole in pursuing the policy of Geoffrey Martel in Maine: after destroying La Flèche, by the peace of Blanchelande ( 1081 ), he received the homage of Robert Curthose (" Courteheuse "), son of William the Conqueror, for Maine.

Robert Livingston the Younger ( 1663 – April 1725 ) was the mayor of Albany, New York from 1710 to 1719.

He published a translation of the letters of Pliny the Younger in 1751, and Remarks on the Life and Writings of Jonathan Swift in the same year, and the Memoirs of Robert Carey, 1st Earl of Monmouth.

This pamphlet excited considerable controversy, and is supposed to have influenced William Pitt the Younger in re-establishing the sinking fund for the extinction of the national debt, created by Robert Walpole in 1716 and abolished in 1733.
