In 506, the Breviarum or " Lex Romana " of Alaric II, king of the Visigoths, adopted and consolidated the Codex Theodosianus together with assorted earlier Roman laws.

* King Alaric II issues the " Lex Romana Visigothorum " or Breviary of Alaric, an abstract of Roman laws and imperial decrees compiled by a commission appointed to provide a law code for Alaric's Roman subjects.

The Breviary of Alaric ( Breviarium Alaricianum or Lex Romana Visigothorum ) is a collection of Roman law, compiled by order of Alaric II, King of the Visigoths, with the advice of his bishops and nobles.

This version saw Paul McGann take on the role of the Doctor, with Lalla Ward reprising her role as Romana II, with an otherwise different cast.

As a Time Lady, Romana is able to regenerate, having had two on-screen incarnations with somewhat different personalities ( dubbed Romana I and Romana II by fans ).

Romana II appeared pseudonymously in a series of audio plays produced in the early 2000s by BBV.

In the story, it is revealed that Romana II was abducted by the Daleks soon after assuming the presidential office, and remained in captivity for twenty years before making her escape, briefly reuniting with the Doctor before reassuming her post.

Romana II also appears with Paul McGann's Eighth Doctor in the 2003 remake of Shada, an audio play produced by Big Finish for the BBC's Doctor Who website and accompanied by Macromedia Flash animations, and also in Neverland and Zagreus.

In Zagreus, Romana II is forced to banish the Eighth Doctor from the universe as he has become a danger to it following his infection by the forces of " anti-time ".

As chronicled in the main series, the first K-9 chose to stay with Leela on Gallifrey, while K-9 Mark II was forced to stay with Romana in E-Space due to being damaged by time winds.

During World War II, Deutsche Bank became responsible for managing the Bohemian Union Bank in Prague, with branches in the Protectorate and in Slovakia, the Bankverein in Yugoslavia ( which has now been divided into two financial corporations, one in Serbia and one in Croatia ), the Albert de Barry Bank in Amsterdam, the National Bank of Greece in Athens, the Creditanstalt-Bankverein in Austria and Hungary, the Deutsch-Bulgarische Kreditbank in Bulgaria, and Banca Commercial Romana in Bucharest.

The character makes subsequent appearances in remakes of the unfinished serial Shada, alongside the Eighth Doctor ( Paul McGann ); the 2003 Shada audio play and webcast depict K-9 Mark II as having returned to Gallifrey with Romana, now Lady President of the Time Lords, where the Doctor visits them.

When Romana eventually returned to her own universe, she brought K-9 Mark II with her ( presumably having repaired it ) and eventually became Lady President of Gallifrey.

In 2003, a webcast adaptation of the never-completed Shada serial was produced for the BBC's Doctor Who website, rewritten as an Eighth Doctor adventure and featuring the post-E-Space versions of Romana II and K-9 Mk II.

He stowed away when the Doctor and Romana and K-9 Mark II left Alzarius and becomes a companion in the following serial, State of Decay, accompanying them on the rest of their adventures in E-Space.

He remains with the Doctor when Romana and K-9 Mark II leave and the TARDIS finds its way back into its own universe.

* After falling, as the Doctor lies sprawled on the ground, he sees visions of all the companions that previously accompanied his fourth incarnation: Sarah Jane Smith ( Terror of the Zygons ), Harry Sullivan ( The Sontaran Experiment ), Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart ( Invasion of the Dinosaurs, a Third Doctor story ), Leela ( The Robots of Death ), K-9 ( The Armageddon Factor ), Romana I ( The Stones of Blood ) and Romana II ( Full Circle ).

The institution, also called BankItalia, was established in 1893 from the combining of three major banks in Italy after the Banca Romana scandal.

However, Guarducci also states that in 1950 an ancient image of Mary at the Church of Santa Francesca Romana was determined to be a very exact, but reverse mirror image of the original circular icon that was made in the 5th century and brought to Rome, where it has remained until the present.

His cousin, Ernesto Pacelli, was a key financial advisor to Pope Leo XIII ; his father, Filippo Pacelli, a Franciscan tertiary, was the dean of the Sacra Rota Romana ; and his brother, Francesco Pacelli, became a lay canon lawyer and the legal advisor to Pius XI, in which role he negotiated the Lateran Treaty in 1929, the pact with Benito Mussolini, bringing an end to the Roman Question.

A Constitutio Romana was then agreed upon between the pope and the emperor in 824 which advanced the imperial pretensions in the city of Rome, but also checked the power of the nobles.

Pax Romana ( Latin for " Roman peace ") was the long period of relative peace and minimal expansion by military force experienced by the Roman Empire in the 1st and 2nd centuries AD.

The empire, wracked with civil war for the last century of the Republic and for years following the Pax Romana, was largely free of large-scale power disputes.

The concept of Pax Romana was first described by Edward Gibbon in Chapter Two of The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

The Pax Romana was not immediate, despite the end of the civil wars, because fighting continued in Spain and in the Alps.

During both Pax Romana and Pax Americana wars continued to occur, but it was still a prosperous time for both Western and Roman civilizations.

However, in spite of extensive reforms by later emperors, the Roman trade network was never able to fully recover to what it had been during the Pax Romana ( 27 B. C .— A. D.

" Adams would later introduce Dawkins to the woman who was to become his third wife, the actress Lalla Ward, best known for playing the character Romana in Doctor Who.

The code, however, appears to have been known amongst the Visigoths by the title of “ Lex Romana ”, or “ Lex Theodosii ”, and it was not until the 16th century that the title of “ Breviarium ” was introduced to distinguish it from a recast of the code, which was introduced into northern Italy in the 9th century for the use of the Romans in Lombardy.

While the Decius himself may have intended the edict as a way to reaffirm his conservative vision of the Pax Romana and to reassure Rome's citizens that the empire was still secure, it nevertheless sparked a " terrible crisis of authority as various Christian bishops and their flocks reacted to it in different ways.

The west gate was the Porta Romana ; remains of the east gate ( the name of which we do not know ) have been found.

The fate of a fourth member of the race, Time Lady Romanadvoratrelundar ( Romana ), a former companion of the Doctor, is unknown, as when the character last appeared in the television series she was residing in a parallel dimension.

In the serial Destiny of the Daleks, Romana was able to voluntarily stop both of her hearts beating, to fool the Daleks into believing that she was dead.

The fate of Time Lady Romanadvoratrelundar ( Romana ) – a one-time companion of the Doctor – is unknown, as in her last appearance in the television series (" Warriors ' Gate ") she was in the parallel dimension of E-Space.

A novelisation of the story written by Gareth Roberts and returning the action to the Fourth Doctor and Romana was released in March 2012.
