US 360 and US 15 run concurrently north through Crafton Gate, where the highways intersect SR 47 ( Craftons Gate Highway ).

In 1970, US 163 was designated along SR 464 in Arizona and SR 47 in Utah as part of a re-alignment of U. S. highways in the Four Corners region.

The part of this on current SR 13 became SR 47 in 1931.

The approximately one-mile section between exits 46 and 47 carries eight routes — I-465, US 31, US 36, US 40, US 52, US 421, SR 37 and SR 67.

These changes were made to the state highway system in 1968 ; Route 480 was truncated only slightly, with the 5. 47 miles ( 8. 80 km ) from I-280 to SR 1 remaining, though downgraded to State Route 480 ; this extension of I-280 south ( the Junipero Serra Freeway ) is considered the southern terminus of Junipero Serra Boulevard.

The southern terminus of SR 423 is in Waldo at a T-intersection that also serves as the eastern terminus of SR 47, as well as the southern terminus of SR 98.

Although state highways were designated to Benicia in 1910 ( Route 7, now I-680 ) and Vallejo in 1931 ( Route 74, now SR 29 ), this connection was not added until 1935, when Route 74 ( an unsigned designation ) was extended east from Vallejo to Benicia and north along former Route 7 to Cordelia.

In 1953, US 41 was extended along US 1 and State Road A1A ( SR A1A ) to terminate in Miami Beach, Florida, but it was truncated back to the earlier terminus in 2000.

This route not only extended from San Pedro north to Los Angeles, but continued through the city-built Figueroa Street Tunnels and along the northern extension of Figueroa Street to Eagle Rock, and then followed Linda Vista Avenue ( via an overlap on Route 161 ( SR 134 ) over the Colorado Street Bridge ) to Route 9 ( now I-210 ) at the Devil's Gate Reservoir.

To prevent the route from changing numbers as it crossed I-5, the southern portion was renumbered SR 133 in 1996, with the remainder becoming an extended SR 241.

The latest piece of SR 57 to be added was formerly part of I-210, after SR 210 was extended to San Bernardino in 1998.

Finally, the Orange Freeway was extended south from SR 91 to I-5 in the mid-1970s, allowing Route 250 to be turned back to local governments, though the subsequent deletion from the Streets and Highways Code did not take place until 1981.

By 1927, M-78 was extended southward, replacing M-79 to the Indiana state line, connecting with State Road 9 ( SR 9 ) south of Sturgis.

The freeway was extended to SR 23 and construction was started to extend it further to US 31.

Construction in the early 1990s extended the freeway in sections from US 31 / Business US 31 ( BUS US 31 ) to its current end with US 20 at CR 17, with the portion from US 31 / BUS US 31 to SR 331 ( Bremen Highway ) paved first, by 1991.

In 1943, the portion of the highway between Ajo and Why was added to the state highway system, but as SR 86, when it was extended west from Tucson to Ajo.

In 1955, the highway was extended to Lukeville at the United States-Mexico border with an overlap with SR 86 between Ajo and Why when a county road was added to Route 85.

The first phase of SR 417, then termed the Eastern Beltway, extended from the current east end of the east – west Expressway northward to SR 426 ( Aloma Avenue ) in Seminole County.

These parts of SR 53 and SR 8 became US 231 in 1952, when US 231 was extended north from Montgomery to US 41 south of St. John.

This changed in 1933, when Route 42 was extended east from the gap to Route 5 ( SR 17 ) in Los Gatos, and a new Route 116 was created, running south from Route 42 at Waterman Gap ( about halfway between Saratoga Gap and the park ) to Santa Cruz, intersecting the end of Route 44 at Boulder Creek.

Later SR 9 was extended north along SR 17 ( which had replaced SR 13 ) from Milpitas to Warm Springs, SR 21 to Mission San Jose, and the independent section of former US 101E-all part of Route 5-to US 50 ( also Route 5, which included a branch to Oakland ) near Hayward.

SR 548 was extended west across SR 563 ( Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue ) and SR 539 ( Kathleen Road ) terminating at George Jenkins Boulevard west of downtown.

The other starts at SR 44 in Wildwood west of Exit 329 on I-75 and crosses the Marion County line towards Ocala.

The south ( or east ) terminus of I-238 is at its interchange with Interstate 580 and SR 238 in Castro Valley.

The five crossing points are two at Blaine ( one at the Peace Arch, located on the Interstate 5 crossing, and the other a commercial and passenger crossing on the Pacific Highway at State Route 543, both to Surrey, British Columbia ), as well as at Lynden ( SR 539, to Aldergrove ), Sumas ( SR 9, to Abbotsford ), and Point Roberts ( Tyee Drive, to Tsawwassen ).

SR 525 enters Island County from the East / South via the Mukilteo-Clinton ferry and terminates at an intersection with SR 20, South of Coupeville.

SR 532 begins on Camano Island, just a few hundred yards inside Island County at an intersection with Sunrise Boulevard and departs Island County to the East via the Mark Clark Bridge.

SR 63 ends at the interchange with US 41 on the north side of town.

The southern route starts at the intersection of SR 188 and SR 288 ( near Roosevelt Lake ) and continues north along SR 288 for approximately.

During the 1990s, a great deal of retail stores were built along the Brentwood / Antioch border on Lone Tree Way at the SR 4 Bypass, about from downtown Brentwood.

SR 299 begins at that point and extends easterly to serve as the major traffic artery to the east for the community of McKinleyville.

State Route 119 passes east of town from its junction with SR 33 to the south.

The John Land Apopka Expressway ( Toll 414 ) opened on May 15, 2009, relieving some of US 441's traffic, taking the route from what is now the US 441 junction with SR 429, and then passing south of the city to rejoin US 441 at its junction with Maitland Boulevard South of the city.

Northwest of the town site of Thorp at the junction of SR 10 and Thorp Highway, the Yakima River emerges from the river canyon parallel to a basalt flow, the uppermost layers of which have been dated to 10. 5 million years.

When the two streets were scheduled for demolition as part of the London County Council's plans for the construction of Kingsway and Aldwych, the GN & SR moved the location to the junction of the two new roads.

Prior to confirmation of the merger, the GN & SR had sought permission to extend its line southwards from the future junction of Kingsway and Aldwych, under Norfolk Street to a new interchange under the Metropolitan District Railway's station at Temple.

Specifically, it runs from Vermont Avenue in Gardena, just west of the junction with the Harbor Freeway ( Interstate 110 ), east to Riverside at the junction with the Pomona ( State Route 60 west of SR 91 ), and Moreno Valley ( SR 60 and I-215 east of SR 91 ) freeways.

A small noncontiguous and mostly unsigned spur of I-710 starts again at California Boulevard in Pasadena and ends at the junction of I-210 and SR 134.

Near the rim of the canyon, the highway curves north out of the Brea Canyon, and descends slightly to a junction with the Pomona Freeway ( SR 60 ) in Diamond Bar, right on the edge of the San Gabriel Valley.

The two routes split in San Jose at the junction of First and Second Streets near Keyes Street, with the El Camino route mostly following the present SR 82 and the Bayshore route using locally-maintained Second, Reed, and Fourth Streets to reach the state-maintained Bayshore Highway., followed the existing highway to Broadway in Burlingame, but then took a more inland alignment past the San Francisco International Airport, and crossed the old road at South San Francisco, running just east of it to near the south end of the cut at Sierra Point.

SR 170 resumes its northbound route at the junction with the Ventura Freeway.

However, the traffic and time " advantage " on I-215 is limited by three factors: the segment between the I-15 / I-215 " Devore junction " and San Bernardino only has two lanes in each direction ( on the other hand, I-15 has four ), it is co-signed with SR 60 between Riverside and Moreno Valley, and it has only two lanes in each direction between Perris and Murrieta.

This section of SR 520 was widened and a new interchange was built at the junction of SR 520, SR 202, and Avondale Road-the former eastern terminus of SR 920.

It lies north of Cayucos and south of Cambria on SR 1, near the junction with SR 46.

It runs from the Ohio state border, where it connects to State Route 15 ( SR 15 ), north to Lansing, where it terminates at a junction with Interstate 496 ( I-496 ).

After its co-routing with the Antelope Valley Freeway ( SR 14 ) through Lancaster and Palmdale, it passes through Palmdales eastside as four-laned Palmdale Boulevard, 47th Street East, and Fort Tejon Road to Avenue T. At Avenue T it tapers to two lanes and continues straight ahead on Pearblossom Highway through Littlerock, Pearblossom, and Llano to its west junction with State Route 18.
