In 2002 the Embraer R-99A AEW & C equipped with the Ericsson Erieye Airborne Radar and the R-99B SR ( Electronic Intelligence Gathering version ) entered service.

* 20px Interstate 75 runs north and south across the western and northern part of the county, with interchanges at County Roads 476B & 673 ( Exit 309 ), SR 48 ( Exit 314 ) CR 470 ( Exit 321 ), Florida's Turnpike ( Exit 328 ), and SR 44 ( Exit 329 ).

Plans are currently under way to reconstruct the interchange, by combining it with I-75 & SR 44.

The GNP & BR was formed from the merger of two earlier, but unbuilt, tube-railway companies taken over in 1901 by Yerkes ' consortium: the Great Northern & Strand Railway ( GN & SR ) and the Brompton & Piccadilly Circus Railway ( B & PCR ).

On 30 November 1907, the short branch from Holborn to the Strand ( later renamed ) opened, which had been planned as the last section of the GN & SR before the amalgamation with the B & PCR was made.

In 1963 the SR. N2 was used on an experimental service between Weston-super-Mare and Penarth under the aegis of P & A Campbell, the paddle steamer operators.

During this same period, Scholz founded his successful high-tech company Scholz Research & Development ( SR & D ), which made amplifiers and other musical electronic equipment.

In 1985, guitarist Gary Pihl left Sammy Hagar's touring band to work with Scholz as both a musician and an SR & D executive.

The SMJR came into being from the amalgamation of ' The East & West Junction Railway ' ( E + WJR ), ' The Evesham, Redditch and Stratford Railway ' ( ER + SR ), and changing its name to ‘ The Stratford-upon-Avon, Towcester and Midland Junction Railway ’ ( ST + MJR ), ‘ The Easton Neston Mineral and Towcester, Roade and Olney Junction Railway ’ ( ENM + TROJR ).

The Great Northern and Strand Railway ( GN & SR ) first proposed a station in the Strand area in a private bill presented to Parliament in November 1898.

The Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railroad ( SR & RL ) was a narrow gauge common carrier railroad that operated approximately of gauge railroad in Franklin County, Maine.

Under Maxey's direction, F & M purchased the Kingfield & Dead River Railroad ( K & DR ) at auction on 2 August 1898 ; and the F & M, K & DR, and Sandy River railroads operated under common management until formally merged as the SR & RL in January 1908.

Under Maxcy's direction, SR & RL purchased the Phillips & Rangeley Railroad ( P & R ) and the Madrid Railroad at auction on 12 June 1908 and the Eustis Railroad at auction on 24 August 1911.

As part of the New England transportation monopoly organized by the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad, the SR & RL operated as a subsidiary of the Maine Central Railroad from 1912 until receivership in 1923.

Maine Central built 37 box cars, 37 flat cars, 3 cabooses and a baggage-RPO car in their Portland Terminal Company shops for the SR & RL between 1912 and 1917.

Following a precedent set three years earlier on the Kennebec Central Railroad, Maxey suspended all train and railcar service when the last mills shipping their products via the SR & RL transferred their business to highway trucking firms.

Two SR & RL highway trucks began carrying express shipments on 8 July 1932, and no trains operated over any part of the railroad through the following winter.

In 1970 a group of local railfans at the Phillips Historical Society formed a project to document the SR & RL.

The non-profit now operates a short heritage railroad on the trackbed of the original SR & RL at Phillips.

The locomotive workshops established by the L & CR continued to undertake minor repairs on locomotives in the London area for the LB & SCR and the SR, and also briefly for British Railways.

All the steam locomotives designed by Bulleid for the SR had Bulleid-Firth-Brown wheels which gave even tyre support, but they did not eliminate the need for balance weights.

Bulleid also played a major role in the electrification of the SR, including infrastructure, electric multiple units and electric locomotives.

He designed the bodies for the two SR electric locomotives CC1 and CC2 in 1941 and 1945.

Among his many achievements was the introduction of the 4-6-0 SR Lord Nelson Class locomotives and also the SR Class V or " Schools " class, which were the ultimate and very successful development of the British 4-4-0 express passenger type.

The British Rail Class 07 diesel locomotive is an off-centre cab dock shunter used in Southampton Docks, to replace SR USA Class steam locomotives.

With competition mainly from Bachmann Industries, and to a much lesser extent from minor and generally niche players such as the Danish model railway company Heljan, Dapol, Vi Trains and Peco, Hornby Railways now ( in 2008 ) produce a large range of highly detailed British steam and diesel locomotives, such as the BR 9F, LNER Class A4, SR Merchant Navy, Class 60, Class 50, Class 31 and Class 08.

The line was entirely worked by diesel electric shunting locomotives requisitioned from the LMS ( London Midland Scottish ) and SR ( Southern Railway ), three from the SR and six from the LMS the smoke from a steam locomotive being visible above the cliffs would have given the guns positions away.

The SR locomotives being on home turf where quickly repaired at Ashford works.

In 1959 20 of the Southern Region locomotives were named, the names being transferred from SR King Arthur class locos that were then being withdrawn.

The LSWR / SR H15 class was a class of 2-cylinder 4-6-0 steam locomotives designed by Robert Urie for mixed-traffic duties on the LSWR.

The SR N15X class or Remembrance class were a design of British 4-6-0 steam locomotives converted in 1934 by Richard Maunsell of the Southern Railway from the large LB & SCR L class 4-6-4 tank locomotives that had become redundant on the London – Brighton line following electrification.

Following the grouping of railway companies in 1923, the LSWR became part of the Southern Railway ( SR ) and its publicity department gave the N15 locomotives names associated with Arthurian legend ; the class hence becoming known as King Arthurs.

Four locomotives were also used by the Wrexham and Shropshire ( W & SR ) railway company until it ceased operating in January 2011.
