Despite this new information, Schreiber decided to continue with the rescue operation as originally planned and the new information could not reach the snipers since they had no radios.

The program mentioned that a year before the Games, Schreiber had participated in another hostage crisis ( a failed bank robbery ) in which he ordered a marksman to shoot one of the perpetrators, who was only wounded.

As a result, the robbers shot dead an innocent woman and Schreiber had been charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The German historian Gerhard Schreiber wrote that Raeder's " Mediterranean plan " was a chimera because to carry out it would have required German diplomacy to make compromises with Vichy France, Spain and Italy that Hitler had no interest in making, and without the necessary diplomatic prelude the plan had no hope of ever being carried out.

Mulroney said Schreiber had paid him as a consultant for this task only, in the context of the potential Bear Head project, which had actually been canceled three years prior to his accepting payment.

For many years, Mulroney had not acknowledged receiving money from Schreiber.

Mulroney had falsely testified under oath that he " never had any dealings " with Schreiber, knew him only " peripherally " and they had a cup of coffee " once or twice.

Mulroney also stated that the work he had performed for his arms-trading business associate Schreiber was out-of-country, rather than lobbying his own Canadian government – such as lobbying the late President Boris Yeltsin that Russia buy arms yet to be made in Canada.

Mulroney did not declare the income or pay taxes on it until years later, when Schreiber had come under criminal investigation in Germany.

This time, the woman, another alleged prostitute named Belle Schreiber, with whom he had been involved in 1909 and 1910, testified against him.

Among the specialists in the latter field who ended up working in the U. S. were Walter Schreiber, Erich Traub and Kurt Blome, who had been involved with medical experiments on concentration camp inmates to test biological warfare agents.

Schreiber was then scheduled to testify on November 29, December 4, and December 6 ; his extradition to Germany has been postponed.

On November 29, The Globe and Mail published the text of the 2006 Schreiber letter to Mulroney requesting help with Schreiber's extradition problems ; Schreiber claimed that he had been assisted in the composition of this letter by Elmer MacKay, a former Cabinet minister in the Mulroney government.

Schreiber also received an apology from the Committee for the degrading treatment he had suffered, when his pants fell down while he was being escorted from the Commons, which had been filmed and shown on television around the world ( his belt had been taken from him, as standard procedure with escorted prisoners ).

Many moving to Canada settled in Schreiber, Ontario, because of the construction of the Canadian Pacific Railway and many played a major part in its completion.

When Schreiber was one year old, his family moved to Canada.

MacKay is a longtime associate of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and German businessman Karlheinz Schreiber, who were negotiating the purchase of Airbus aircraft for Air Canada in 1988.

Schreiber, however, remained in Canada exhausting his appeals, until he was finally extradited to Germany on August 2, 2009.

The stories revealed, for the first time, that Brian Mulroney had made a voluntary disclosure to Revenue Canada years after he had received envelopes of cash from Karlheinz Schreiber.

In 1995, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police ( RCMP ) accused Mulroney and Frank Moores of accepting kickbacks from Karlheinz Schreiber on the sale of Airbus planes to the government-owned airline during Mulroney's term as Prime Minister of Canada.

Mulroney has not yet provided evidence of any work he performed for that money, and declared it as income to Revenue Canada only years later, when Schreiber had come under criminal investigation in Germany.

On October 31, 2007 The Globe and Mail and The Fifth Estate reported new information about the cash transactions between Schreiber and Mulroney, revealing that Brian Mulroney filed a Voluntary Disclosure with Revenue Canada several years after accepting the cash envelopes from Karlheinz Schreiber.
