Keno Don Hugo Rosa, known simply as Don Rosa, ( born June 29, 1951 ) is an American comic book writer and illustrator known for his stories about Scrooge McDuck, Donald Duck and other Disney characters.

Since early childhood Don Rosa had been fascinated by Carl Barks ' stories about Donald Duck and Scrooge McDuck.

As Don Rosa explained it, he was just "(...) turning that old Pertwillaby Papers adventure back into the story it originally was in my head, starring Scrooge, Donald, the nephews, and Flintheart Glomgold.

Rosa has an especially large following in Finland, and in 1999, he created a special 32-page Donald, Scrooge, Gearloose & nephews strip for his Finnish fans ; Sammon Salaisuus ( translates to The secret of the Sampo, but it is officially named The Quest for Kalevala

At first Rumpus had an antagonistic relationship with Donald, his nephews and Scrooge but they began to get along better in later stories.

In a surprising ( since he had spent the whole last night trying to make sure Donald wouldn't leave and force him to pay the bill ) move, Scrooge quickly pulled the required amount from his pockets and bought the restaurant.

Or, as Scrooge himself would say to Huey, Dewey and Louie: by being " tougher than the toughies and smarter than the smarties.

Even at the end of the story when Scrooge has won and Flintheart passes out after finding he is only second best, he has to be carried home by Huey, Louie and Dewey since he has no one else there to help him.
