On 18 November 2008 the band released The BBC Sessions, which features songs from the period of 1996 – 2001 ( including the last recordings featuring Isobel Campbell before she left the band ), along with a second disc featuring a recording of a live performance in Belfast from Christmas 2001.

The most comprehensive history is still Hubert Jedin's The History of the Council of Trent ( Geschichte des Konzils von Trient ) with about 2500 pages in four volumes: The History of the Council of Trent, The fight for a Council ( Vol I, 1951 ); The History of the Council of Trent The first Sessions in Trent ( 1545 – 1547 ) ( Vol II, 1957 ); The History of the Council of Trent Sessions in Bologna 1547 – 1548 and Trent 1551 – 1552 ( Vol III, 1970, 1998 ); The History of the Council of Trent Third Period and Conclusion ( Vol IV, 1976 ).

Three months later, Brooks and Wal-Mart issued The Limited Series, a six-CD box set containing past material and a Lost Sessions disc with eleven previously unissued recordings.

In early 2006 Wal-Mart issued The Lost Sessions as a single CD apart from the boxed set, with extra tracks including a top 25 duet with Yearwood, " Love Will Always Win ".

Before the end of 2008, Jeepster would also release another Belle & Sebastian compilation, The BBC Sessions, collecting the tracks that the band had recorded for the BBC in 1996, which included rarities and unreleased songs, together with live recordings from Belfast.

A Court of Quarter Sessions was held four times a year in each district to oversee the administration of the district and deal with legal cases.

For county Quarter Sessions, this person was appointed by the custos rotulorum of the county – the Justice of the Peace for the county charged with custody of its rolls and records.

Quarter Sessions were abolished alongside other local courts by the District Courts ( Scotland ) Act 1975, which moved justices of the peace to sitting in a uniform series of District Courts, since replaced by Justice of the Peace Courts.

Quarter Sessions were abolished in the Irish Free State under the Courts of Justice Act 1924.

When possible, he sat as a Justice of the Peace in Towyn and Machynlleth, and eventually chaired Merionethshire Quarter Sessions.

The reorganised Court of Swainmote was given the status of Petty Sessions and the Verderers powers of a Justice of the Peace.
