Sheridan after the Shadow War had built a powerful alliance of races and held command of the Whitestar Fleet, giving him the military muscle to fight Earth directly.

Furthermore, Captain Jankowski was assigned to command the fleet against the advice of capable officers such as Commander John Sheridan, who warned that Jankowski was unreliable and " trigger-happy " and declined to accompany him on the mission.

When Sheridan withdrew Babylon 5 from the increasingly fascist Earth Alliance in the episode " Severed Dreams ", the station was soon attacked by a fleet of EarthForce warships loyal to President Clark.

He helped Dr. Franklin and Lyta free Sheridan, and got him safely back to the fleet.

Sheridan then took command of the EAS Agamemnon, and set the fleet on course for Mars.

Sheridan shows his strength as a leader by being able to assemble a fleet from so many diverse worlds, many of whom are historical enemies of one another, now united against common enemies.

Sheridan then takes a fleet of White Star warships to the besieged Proxima 3 colony.

In the interim, with Sheridan captured and the fleet in limbo, she vows to finish the job her Captain began.

With Sheridan in prison and being tortured, the resistance fleet is now under the command of Commander Ivanova, Sheridan's second-in-command on Babylon 5.

She has kept up the offensive started by Sheridan, and her fleet continues to win battle after battle against Earth forces still loyal to President Clark.

Sheridan arrives back at the fleet.

With the permission of Captain James, Sheridan takes command of the Agamemnon, and puts the resistance fleet on course for Mars.

Fearing the worst, she goes to the meeting and learns from Londo, his aide Vir Cotto, and Narn Ambassdor G ' Kar that the entire council has voted to supply warships to the resistance fleet to help rescue Sheridan and liberate Earth from President Clark's fascist regime.

Onboard his former ship, the EAS Agamemnon, Sheridan prepares his forces to attack the fleet orbiting Mars so that he will not be outflanked when attacking Earth.

Soon afterwards, the angry Drazi ambassador to Babylon 5, accompanied by other alien ambassadors, goes to Sheridan and demands the protection of the Alliance's White Star fleet.

When Sheridan learns of this, he is furious and leads a small fleet of White Star vessels to intercept the Narn / Drazi fleet before it can reach Centauri Prime.

" Sheridan convinced the Ambassadors to help build the largest fleet ever assembled.

Sheridan then took the fleet to Earth.

However Londo was saved by the fact that at the same time in another part of the galaxy, a fleet led by John Sheridan was fighting their final battle against the Shadows and Vorlons at Corianna 6 and the Vorlons called in all their remaining ships to help.

However, Captain Sheridan joined with the rebel Earth warships EAS Churchill and EAS Alexander, and Minbari warships, to defeat the attacking Earth fleet and force them to retreat.

When warships loyal to Clark attacked and killed 10, 000 innocent civilians trying to escape, Sheridan took his highly advanced White Star fleet to save the colony.

Sheridan was captured by EarthForce in a trap and tortured in an Earthgov facility on Mars, but was eventually rescued by the " Free Mars " rebel movement ; he subsequently recovered and returned to his fleet.

Together they disabled a fleet of 33 Omega-Class destroyers loyal to Clark using the telepaths saved from delivery to the Shadows who were programmed by shadow technology to embed and control any machine ; the Omega-Class destroyers were led by General Lefcourt, a close friend of Sheridan who had served as his mentor at the EarthForce Academy.
