* Lt General Sir James Outram, 1st Baronet Outram

Sir James Outram ( 13 October 1864 – 12 March 1925 ) was a British clergyman, who made many first ascents in the Canadian Rockies in the early 1900s.

Outram was born in London, England, the son of Sir Francis Boyd Outram, Bart.

Sir James Outram was a dedicated Orangeman and a member of the Vermilion, Alberta, Loyal Orange Lodge Number 2078 in 1915.

In that year, he was selected by Sir James Outram to command a division in the Anglo-Persian War, during which he was present at the action of Muhamra against the forces of Nasser al-Din Shah under command of Khanlar Mirza.

Napier was appointed military secretary and adjutant-general to Sir James Outram, whose forces took part in the actions leading to the first relief of Lucknow on 25 September 1857.

He then took charge of Lucknow's defence until the second relief, when he was badly wounded while crossing an exposed space with Outram and Sir Henry Havelock to meet with Sir Colin Campbell.

Following the Disruption of 1843, along with Sir James Outram, he supported Reverend Alexander Duff in establishing the Free Church Institution in Kolkata, as a rival institution to the General Assembly's Institution, which was founded by Duff in 1830.

In 1964, publishers George Outram were bought by Sir Hugh Fraser.

On 25 September a relief column under the command of Sir Henry Havelock and accompanied by Sir James Outram ( who in theory was his superior ) fought its way from Cawnpore to Lucknow in a brief campaign in which the numerically small column defeated rebel forces in a series of increasingly large battles.
