The Library Park Historic District, Judge John Fine House, Acker and Evans Law Office, New York State Armory, Oswegatchie Pumping Station, Ogdensburg Armory, Robert C. McEwen United States Custom House, United States Post Office, and Fort de La Présentation Site are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

* Savannah River Ecology Laboratory ( SREL ) is a research unit of The University of Georgia, located at the U. S. Department of Energy's ( DOE ) Savannah River Site ( SRS ) in Aiken, S. C .-Since the laboratory's founding in 1951 by Dr. Eugene Odum of the University of Georgia, a pioneer of modern ecology, SREL scientists have studied the long-term ecological impacts of the SRS nuclear facility.

Site " C " also has the three missile silos capped, but much of the concrete has been removed and appears to be part of a grazing rangeland, the outlines of the missile site still very visible in aerial imagery.

The Pinchot Institute for Conservation is seated in Washington, D. C. Gifford's son, Dr. Gifford Bryce Pinchot, donated Grey Towers National Historic Site to the Forest Service in 1963.

It was located at the Dalecarlia Site ( including buildings now named for John C. Frémont and Charles Ruth ) on MacArthur Blvd., just outside Washington, D. C. in Montgomery County, Maryland, and adjacent to the Dalecarlia Reservoir.

However, reaches of the Peace River Valley are threatened with flooding by the proposed Site C Dam, which would generate enough electricity to power about 460, 000 households.

Robie House, George Herbert Jones Laboratory, St. Thomas Church and Convent, Shoreland Hotel, German submarine U-505, and University Apartments.

In 2004 the BC government's Energy Plan instructed BC Hydro to begin discussions with First Nations, the Province of Alberta and communities to discuss Site C as a future option.

Site Bay ( C Battery ), across Cook Inlet from the others, has been mostly demolished, with only burned out shells of the batteries remaining, as well as a few storage bunkers.

Parts of the region around Hallstatt were listed as a World Heritage Site in 1997, with the description: " Human activity in the magnificent natural landscape of the Salzkammergut began in prehistoric times, with the salt deposits being exploited as early as the 2nd millennium B. C.

Site " C " appears to be largely intact.

Generally regarded as Sweden's oldest town, Birka ( along with Hovgården ) has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993.

It has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest ( SSSI ) due to its wintering waterfowl populations.

The home has been designated the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site.

The house has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.

The entire island has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest and it was England's first statutory Marine Nature Reserve, and the first Marine Conservation Zone, because of its unique flora and fauna.

The Viking Age settlements Birka on the island of Björkö and Hovgården on the neighbouring island Adelsö have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993, as has Drottningholm Palace on the island of Lovön.

Gros Morne National Park has a reputation as an outstanding example of tectonics at work, and as such has been designated a World Heritage Site.

Rousay is a ' Site of Special Scientific Interest ' with notable cliff formations and wildflower colonies, and has an RSPB bird reserve.

The Palace of Westminster has been a Grade I listed building since 1970 and part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

For example, the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Site in the Gasabo District of Kigali — the burial place of approximately 300, 000 victims of the genocide — has a related genocide exhibition area and library and has plans to develop a teaching center on the history of the genocide.

The Konark Sun Temple has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Since 1983 it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Sabah's attractions includes World Heritage Site Kinabalu Park which has Mount Kinabalu, and Sipadan Island, a diving and bio-diversity hot-spot.

In 1922 a large scheme of afforestation was started on the Peckforton Hills, and the resulting woodland has been granted the status of a Site of Special Scientific Interest.

Petra has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985.

Moreover, the city of Toulouse has two historic sites added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Canal Du Midi ( shared with other cities ), since 1996, and the Basilica of St. Sernin under the description: World Heritage Sites of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France, since 1998.

For its beauty and cultural importance it has been qualified by UNESCO as World Heritage Site.

It is one of Japan's along with Mount Tate and Mount Haku ; it is a Special Place of Scenic Beauty, a Historic Site, and has been submitted for future inscription on the World Heritage List as a Cultural ( rather than Natural ) Site.

Örnsköldsvik is situated near the northern end of the " High Coast ", which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and has the third longest suspension bridge in Europe, the Höga Kusten Bridge.
