Southfield Public Schools operates area public schools.

Students living in parts of Northern Southfield attend schools in the Birmingham City School District, while students living in the Southeast corner of Southfield attend schools in the Oak Park School District.

Primary schools include Southfield Park Primary School, Epsom Primary School and Children Centre, Stamford Green Primary School and Danetree Junior School

Founded in 1953, Southfield High is the oldest of three high schools in the district operated by Southfield Public Schools.

The other high schools in the district are Southfield-Lathrup High School, and the University High School Academy, a program which is located in the building of Southfield High School.
