Michael Specter writes that it provides for groups such as the Humane Society of the United States the same dynamic that Malcolm X provided for Martin Luther King, or Andrea Dworkin for Gloria Steinem — someone radical to alienate the mainstream and make moderate voices more appealing.

However, before Divatox tries to finish off the Rangers, she receives a message that Zordon has been captured and the order of Dark Specter that they have to leave for the Cimmerian planet.

Unfortunately, just as quickly, she ( along with Ecliptor ) is recaptured and reprogrammed to follow Dark Specter.

Astronema becomes more evil than ever, as she not only wants to destroy the Space Rangers, but also Dark Specter.

She would eventually discover the truth and defect to the Rangers ' side for a time, before being captured and brainwashed to be completely loyal to Dark Specter when she went to the Dark Fortress in order to reprogram an asteroid that Dark Specter had sent on a collision course with Earth.

When Dark Specter is killed in the finale, she becomes the " Queen of Evil ", she is seemingly killed accidentally during a confrontation with Andros, but is revived by Zordon's energy wave.

" It was the done thing for a British girl in India ," she told Michael Specter for The New Yorker.

" We are named People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ," she told Specter.

Specter asked whether she would be opposed to experiments on five thousand rats, or even chimpanzees, if it was needed to cure AIDS.

In an unprecedented move, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter and ranking Democrat Patrick Leahy also requested that Miers re-do some of her answers to the questionnaire submitted to her by the Committee, noting that her responses were " inadequate ," " insufficient ," and " insulting " because she failed or refused to adequately answer various questions with acceptable accuracy or with sufficient detail.

Miers also privately expressed a belief in the right to privacy to the pro-choice Arlen Specter, only to later deny that she had communicated that.

However, the implants resulted her also gaining a desire to overthrow Dark Specter himself ( though she kept this a secret from him and pretended to be loyal to him ).

However, in her moment of triumph, she was recalled to the Cimmerian Planet by Dark Specter, forcing her to abandon her conquests.

Divatox expresses jealousy and resentment towards Astronema's taking over of the responsibility of destroying the Space Rangers while she and her forces were selected by Dark Specter to constantly move Zordon about from world to world to prevent any of the various Rangers from finding him.

He was later reassigned by Dark Specter to serve Astronema ( to her chagrin, as she didn't want him around ) in battling the Space Rangers.

Astronema, who was now fully evil and brainwashed by Dark Specter, turned on him in order to destroy him by prolonging the attacks of the Psycho Rangers and other evil forces that drew power from him ; while she was able to seriously weaken him in this manner, she did not succeed in destroying him.

She is transported to another planet, where she meets Ecliptor and Dark Specter, the Grand Monarch of Evil.

However, she is captured once again by Dark Specter and his forces after trying to save Earth from an asteroid sent by him.

The team eventually learn that Dark Specter has captured Zordon, though Zordon is able to warn the Rangers not to rescue him as it would leave the Earth defenseless.

Picking up where Power Rangers Turbo left off, Dark Specter has captured Zordon and is beginning to completely drain his powers.

Senator Arlen Specter, the former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has led challenges to the administration over its stance on the NSA warrantless wiretapping program, and on August 17 U. S. District Court Judge Anna Diggs Taylor ruled the program unconstitutional in ACLU v. NSA ; the federal government subsequently appealed the decision.

However, Specter has supplied five monkeys, the Freaky Monkey Five, with Vita-Z bananas, making them stronger and more intelligent than the average monkeys.

He became increasingly dependent on more independent producers such as Ben Hecht to give him work, such as Angels Over Broadway ( 1940 ) and Specter of the Rose ( 1946 ).

He won the primary over six other contenders, including Arlen Specter, who had become well known as a former Democrat who switched parties and was elected the Philadelphia County district attorney in 1965 and the more conservative David W. Marston, a former U. S. attorney in Philadelphia, who was controversially dismissed in 1978 by the Jimmy Carter administration after Marston launched prosecution of two Democratic congressmen and two Democratic state legislators.

In modern times, more liberal Republicans include Rudy Giuliani, Amo Houghton, Colin Powell, Jim Leach, Joseph Cao, Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins, former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and former Senators Jim Jeffords and Arlen Specter, both of whom later left the party.

The third had Andros gathering the Red Rangers ( via Tommy ) after discovering a cult are trying to resurrect Dark Specter, and involves all ten fighting a resurrected Specter ; this draft brought all the Rangers together early on, so they could interact more.

A villain in Power Rangers in Space, Dark Specter, had the same appearance as Maligore, but had the ability to speak and was far more powerful.

He somewhat was able to gain support from conservative, pro-life Republicans who had voted for Pat Toomey in the close Senate Primary against Arlen Specter, who is more liberal, especially on social issues.

In 2001 they formed Specter with Jason Specter and others.

After retiring from the NHL, Stein served in Washington as special counsel to the U. S. Senate's Select Committee on Intelligence, and subsequently as Special Assistant to U. S. Senator Arlen Specter, who was then serving as vice chairman of the Commission looking into the effectiveness of U. S. government agencies in dealing with the threat of weapons of mass destruction, a commission appointed by President Clinton.
