California State Route 61 runs down city streets from the Posey and Webster Street Tubes, across the Bay Farm Island Bridge, and south to the Oakland Airport.

On August 7, 1912, the Department broke ground on its first construction project, the section of El Camino Real between South San Francisco and Burlingame ( now part of California State Route 82 ).

The bridge is part of State Route 84, and is directly connected to Interstate 880 by a freeway segment north of the Fremont end.

Access to I-280 is available via State Route 84 to Woodside Road ( as signed ) or other arterial routes.

In addition, there are no direct cross-Peninsula arterial routes between State Route 84 and Page Mill Road, a five-mile gap.

The city is west of the former site of Times Beach, the site of dioxin contamination discovered in the 1980s ; the area was cleaned up and became Route 66 State Park.

The Aztec Motel in Albuquerque, New Mexico ( built 1932 ) was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993 and listed on the New Mexico State Register of Cultural Properties as the oldest continuously operating US Route 66 motel in New Mexico.

In 1987, Angel Delgadillo and a group of fifteen businesspeople established the first Route 66 association in Seligman, Arizona, obtaining the first " Historic Route 66 " designation for a stretch of Arizona State Route 66 from Kingman to Seligman.

The Caltrain commuter rail line runs roughly parallel to the El Camino Real ( State Route 82 ) and Highway 101 corridors.

Ferry at Clinton The only bridge that reaches Whidbey Island is the Deception Pass Bridge, State Route 20, which connects the north end of Whidbey to the mainland via Fidalgo Island.

Modern ferry service is available via State Route 20 on the Coupeville to Port Townsend ferry, and via State Route 525 on the Clinton to Mukilteo ferry service on the southern east coast.

Travel on the island involves use of an extensive county road system, or city infrastructure depending on location, all of which act as feeders to the two state highways State Route 525 and State Route 20.

State Road 87 traverses the county from north to south, between US Highway 98 and the border with Escambia County, Alabama near Brewton, where it connects with State Route 41.

The Ohio River Scenic Byway along Indiana State Road 66 runs along the southern border of the county while Interstate 64 traverses the northern portion of the county.

Interstate 40 added vitality to Atkins when the section of the interstate through Pope County opened in September 1968, giving Atkins access where the thoroughfare traverses State Highway 105.

Most Malibu residents live within a few hundred yards of Pacific Coast Highway ( State Route 1 ), which traverses the city, with some residents living up to a mile away from the beach up narrow canyons, and many more residents of the unincorporated canyon areas identifying Malibu as their hometown.

New York State Route 226 traverses the town from east-to-west.

The Ettumanoor-Poonjar State Highway ( SH 32 ) traverses across the Taluk in the easterly direction connecting major centres like Kidangoor, Cherpunkal, Palai, Bharananganam and Erattupetta.

Other principal routes in the region include State Route 99, which runs along the valley's eastern edge, roughly parallel to I-5, from Sacramento until its northern terminus in Red Bluff ; State Route 20, which traverses the valley from west to east on its route from State Route 1 in Mendocino County to the Donner Pass ; State Route 49, named in honor of the California Gold Rush and running through many old mining towns in the foothills of the valley ; and State Route 45, which runs along the course of the Sacramento River roughly ten miles ( 20 km ) east of I-5.

State Highway 82 traverses the range at Independence Pass, which is typically open only from late spring to mid autumn.

The western leg of State Route 138 traverses the Lancaster Freeway from Interstate 5 to Gorman Post Road, Lancaster Road from Gorman Post Road to 245th Street West near Neenach School, and Avenue D from 245th Street West to Route 138s north junction with State Route 14.

Between the county line and Interstate 15, State Route 138 traverses very mountainous and scenic terrain and it connects with State Route 2 that leads to winter resort areas in the San Gabriel Mountains used largely by residents of greater Los Angeles and greater San Diego.

State Route 92 traverses through significant habitat areas including wetland, California oak woodland, chaparral and grassland.

The split is only temporary as the highway traverses Pearl, Pascagoula and State streets and meets I-55 again at Exit 93 ( Interstate 20 / I-55 / State Street interchange ).
