Gainesville is traditionally well known for its music scene and has spawned a number of bands and musicians including Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Stephen Stills, Don Felder and Bernie Leadon of The Eagles, The Motels, Against Me !, Less Than Jake, Hot Water Music, John Vanderslice, Sister Hazel, and For Squirrels.

Stills and Furay appeared on more tracks than any of the others, essentially dominating the album, but it did not light up the charts.

The new band toured extensively and appeared at the highly publicized " Holiday Rock Festival " in San Francisco on December 25 – 26, 1968, but soon fell afoul of Stills and Young, who took legal action to prevent Martin from using the band's name.

Songs performed on the 1974 tour later appeared on various releases including Stills, Zuma, American Stars ' n Bars, Long May You Run, Comes a Time, Hawks & Doves, Wind on the Water, Earth and Sky, and Whistling Down the Wire.

The Au Go Go Singers included Kathy King ( who later toured with Bobby Vinton and appeared in the Broadway show, Oh Calcutta and currently works as Kathrin King Segal ), Jean Gurney, Michael Scott ( who later performed with the Highwaymen and the Serendipity Singers ), Rick ( Frederic ) Geiger ( who eventually was accepted into a light opera company in California ), Roy Michaels ( who later performed with Cat Mother & the All Night Newsboys and toured with Jimi Hendrix ), Nels Gustafson, Bob Harmelink, and soloists Stephen Stills and Richie Furay.

While still under contract to Stax, he appeared on Stephen Stills ' eponymous album ( 1970 ).

He also appeared on albums by Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Crosby Stills and Nash, Stevie Nicks and Squeeze.

On Tuesday, August 19, 1969, Jefferson Airplane, Joni Mitchell, and David Crosby and Stephen Stills ( of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young ), all appeared on The Dick Cavett Show.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young closed out the inaugural season in August 2006, bringing the foursome back to Bethel for the first time since August 1969.

Next, Stephen Stills got involved, writing " You've Got a Nice Way " for Starr and producing its recording that August.

It was on Epic that the Staple Singers began moving into mainstream pop markets, with " Why ( Am I Treated So Bad )" and " For What It's Worth " ( Stephen Stills ) in 1967.

Having been named the Howard Hughes of rock ‘ n ’ roll by Fortune magazine, Cohl is most famous for having overseen the tours and related ancillary businesses for more than 150 artists, including Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Pink Floyd, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and U2.

Crosby, Stills & Nash toured the USA, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil in 2012 and released a 2CD / DVD entitled CSN 2012 on July 17, 2012.

At an informal gathering one evening, Stills and Crosby performed a two-voice version of a new song entitled " You Don't Have to Cry ".

For many Buffalo Springfield fans it is " Bluebird ", a Stephen Stills composition, that was then and remains the band's peak.

" For What It's Worth " is a song written by Stephen Stills.

Though often mistaken for an anti-war song, it was this first of the " Sunset Strip riots " which inspired then Buffalo Springfield band member Stephen Stills to write " For What It ’ s Worth ", recorded about three weeks after on December 5, 1966.

In 2006, when interviewed on Tom Kent's radio show " Into the ' 70s ", Stephen Stills pointed out that many people think " For What It's Worth " is about the Kent State Shootings ( 1970 ), despite predating that event by over three years.

As the sixties waned into the seventies, Gretschs were seen in the hands of Stephen Stills and Neil Young, who each played Falcon models on the Buffalo Springfield's lone hit, " For What It's Worth ".

Stills of the alternate enemies can be seen during the credits, as " Actors who were Cut from the Game ".

During the Vietnam War the first rock protest songs were heard, inspired by the songs of folk musicians such as Woody Guthrie and Bob Dylan, which ranged from abstract evocations of peace Peter, Paul and Mary's " If I Had a Hammer " to blunt anti-establishment diatribes Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young's " Ohio ".

Brewer & Shipley have performed with many notable acts, including Stephen Stills, Bruce Springsteen, Black Sabbath, and Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, who played pedal steel guitar for " Oh, Mommy ".
