" Moonlight ", a rare jazz performance by Sting for the 1995 remake of Sabrina, written by Alan Bergman, Marilyn Bergman and John Williams, was nominated for a 1997 Grammy Award for Best Song Written Specifically for a Motion Picture or Television.

Sting and bands
In 1977, Copeland founded The Police with singer-bassist Sting and guitarist Henry Padovani ( who was soon replaced by Andy Summers ), which became one of the top bands of the 1980s.
In recent times, the arena has also hosted several concerts of international rock and pop bands, among which Pink Floyd, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Deep Purple, The Who, Dire Straits, Mike Oldfield, Rod Stewart, Sting, Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Muse.
Miles was also the manager of Wishbone Ash, The Police ( which counted Miles ' brother Stewart as one of its members ), and later, Sting, as well as other bands.
Hugh Padgham had previously worked many with British artists and bands including Genesis, David Bowie, and Sting ; among others.

In 1984, BBC Radio 4 broadcast two 90-minute plays based on Titus Groan and Gormenghast, adapted by Brian Sibley and starring Sting as Steerpike and Freddie Jones as the Artist ( narrator ).
The album got a new boost in 2006 when the second single was announced as " Always on Your Side ," re-recorded with British musician Sting and sent off to radio, where it was quickly embraced at Adult Top 40.
Sting was from a jazz-rock background, and wasn't very familiar with the punk music, so the bulk of the song writing fell on Copeland, who penned the majority of the band's early repertoire, including " Fall Out ", " Nothing Achieving ", " Landlord " and " Dead End Job ".
After the Synchronicity tour ended in March 1984, the band went on hiatus while Sting recorded and toured in support of his successful solo debut LP, the jazz-influenced The Dream of the Blue Turtles, released in June 1985, Copeland recorded and filmed The Rhythmatist ( 1985 ) and Summers recorded another album with Robert Fripp ( Bewitched, 1984 ) and the theme song for the film 2010.
On 2 October 1991 ( Sting's 40th birthday ), Summers joined Sting on stage at the Hollywood Bowl during The Soul Cages Tour to perform " Roxanne " and " Every Breath You Take ".
In 2004, Henry Padovani released an album with the participation of Stewart Copeland and Sting on one track, reuniting the original Police lineup for the first time since 1977.
In the 1985 documentary Bring on the Night he was addressed by a journalist as " Gordon ", and replied: " My children call me Sting, my mother calls me Sting, who is this Gordon character?
In September 1981, Sting made his first live solo appearance, performing on all four nights of the fourth Amnesty International benefit The Secret Policeman's Other Ball at the invitation of producer Martin Lewis.
Sting was reportedly embarrassed when his publishing company insisted on a co-writing credit ( and royalties ) since his " I Want My MTV " line, was sung to exactly the same notes as the chorus of " Don't Stand So Close to Me ".
In 1985 Sting provided a short guest vocal performance on the Miles Davis album You're Under Arrest.

Sting appears as a guest on the 2005 Monkey Business CD by American hip-hop group The Black Eyed Peas, adding vocals to the track " Union " which makes heavy use of samples from his Englishman in New York.
