Stomp Tokyo said the film is " one of the better Godzilla movies in that the scenes in which monsters do not appear actually make some sort of sense.

Cult-movie reviewing site Stomp Tokyo gave the film a five out of five, calling it the best Kaiju film since the legendary original Godzilla movie. However, many believe that it is overrated.
