Originally active from 1985 to 1996, the band have had consistent commercial and critical success in Australia and New Zealand and international chart success in two phases, beginning with their self-titled debut album, Crowded House, which reached number twelve on the US Album Chart in 1987 and provided the Top Ten hits, " Don't Dream It's Over " and " Something So Strong ".

The album was a greatest hits compilation that included two re-recorded tracks, " I'm Gonna be Strong ", first recorded with her band Blue Angel, and a reworking of her first big hit, newly christened " Hey Now ( Girls Just Want To Have Fun )".

In 1990 Leandros released the album " Starkes Gefuehl " ( Strong Feeling ) which notably contained a new version of " Apres Toi " her Eurovision song contest winner of 1972.
