Priscilla Studd was married to the English cricketer and missionary Charles Studd whom she met in China when she was a missionary with the China Inland Mission as had Charles as one of the Cambridge Seven under the direction of Hudson Taylor.

Like his forbear Sir Kynaston Studd, he was a governor of the Regent Street Poly ( now part of the University of Westminster ).

The famous Studd brothers, Sir John Edward Kynaston, George ( GB ) and Charles ( CT ), were Victorian gentleman cricketers ; they were educated at Eton and Cambridge.

Sir Peter Studd was the Lord Mayor of the City of London between 1970 – 1971 and an executive of De La Rue, the banknote printing company ; as a young man he was an outstanding cricketer, captaining both the Harrow and Cambridge teams.

Roddy Piper was the leader of the heels, or bad guys ; consisting of the Iron Sheik, Nikolai Volkoff, The Fabulous Moolah, Big John Studd, and Mr. Fuji.

In early 1982, Studd gained several unsuccessful title shots at the NWA World Heavyweight Championship, which was held by " The Nature Boy " Ric Flair at the time.

While Studd became a top challenger for the WWF World Championship, held by Bob Backlund, it was his feud with Andre the Giant that earned him main event status.

Along with Dusty Rhodes, Lloyd co-founded Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling ( TCW ) in 2000, which held shows throughout the Southeast and whose roster featured additional WCW castoffs such as Scotty Anton ( Scotty Riggs ), Barry Windham, Big Ron Studd, and Chad Fortune.

Following his return to the WWE at the 2002 Royal Rumble, he made two more appearances with TCW, the first in a six-man tag team match with his father Dusty and Ron Studd against Riggs, Fake Goldust, and Jason Sugarmann, and the second in a singles victory over Steve Corino.

The Heenan Family's first target was Andre the Giant, with whom Studd had been embroiled in a bitter feud over who was the true " giant " of wrestling.

After this, Studd was brought into Florida by J. J. Dillon and feuded with Dusty Rhodes, Barry Windham ( the son of Blackjack Mulligan ), and Sweet Brown Sugar.

The match ended by disqualification after persistent rulebreaking by Studd and Patera, who attacked André afterwards and cut his hair.

The two appeared to make amends at the behest of their manager, but Savage was clearly upset after the event ( which was ultimately won by Big John Studd ).

Antol debuted on June 2, 1992 using the ring name Scott Studd after being trained by Ted " The Nightmare " Allen.

Allen trained Studd the old school way by teaching while wrestling in front of live crowds.

Ron Reis was trained by the late Big John Studd.

Kynaston, George and CT were still at Eton when their father, Edward Studd, became a born-again Christian and they were far from pleased by his efforts to interest them in the gospel.

He later moved up to Jim Crockett Promotions in the Carolinas as a heel manager managing wrestlers like Jimmy Snuka, Ken Patera, Gene Anderson, and Big John Studd.

Although they had wrestled occasionally beforehand, their first nationally televised encounter was on the November 2, 1985, edition of Saturday Night's Main Event where Hogan teamed up with André the Giant against André's rivals Bundy and Big John Studd.

They feuded for several months, including a pair of tag team matches on Saturday Night's Main Event in late 1985, where Bundy and André's other nemesis, Big John Studd, first faced André and Tony Atlas and then André and Hulk Hogan.
