Sura (, ) is a river in Russia, a right tributary of the Volga River.

Sura Al-Isra (, Sūratu al-Isrā, " The Night Journey "), also called Sura Bani Isra ' il ( i. e. Children of Israel ), is the 17th chapter of the Qur ' an, with 111 verses.

Perhaps the most popular beverage, both because it is cheaper than beer and has a higher, 40-percent alcohol content, is a neutral grain spirit called Sura (), but more generally known as Lao Whiskey (, Lao lao in Laos and Lao Khao (, white alcohol ) in Thailand.

Sura Al-Hijr (, Sūratu al-Hijr, " The Stoneland ") is the 15th sura of the Qur ' an.

Sura An-Nahl (, Sūratu an-Naḥl, " The Bees ") is the 16th.

Sura al-Kahf " The Cave " (, Sūratu al-Kahf ) is the 18th surah of the Qur ' an with 110 ayat.

Sura Maryam (, Sūratu Maryam, " Mary ") is the 19th sura ( chapter ) of the Qur ' an and is a Makkan sura with 98 ayat ( English: verses ).

Sura Ta-Ha (, Sūratu Tā-Hā, " Ta-Ha ") is the 20th sura of the Qur ' an with 135 ayat.

Surat Ar-Rum (, " Sura of the Romans ", referring to the Eastern Roman Empire ) is the 30th sura of the Qur ' an with 60 ayat.

(" yirushalmi ") The other version by scholars of Babylonia, primarily of the academies of Sura, Pumbedita, and Mata Mehasia, which was published about 500 CE.

Sa ' adya's Emunoth ve-Deoth (" Beliefs and opinions ") was originally called Kitab al-Amanat wal-l ' tikadat (" Book of the Articles of Faith and Doctrines of Dogma "); it was the first systematic presentation and philosophic foundation of the dogmas of Judaism, completed at Sura Academy in 933 CE.

In Islam Sura Al-Fatiha (), ( Sūratul-Fātihah, " The Opener ") is the first chapter of the Qur ' an.

The Islamic law of inheritance ( Sura 4, ayah 11 ) defines exactly how the estate is calculated after death of an individual.

This is recorded in the Qur ' an's second chapter ( Sura Al-Baqara ), Verse 280, which notes: " And if someone is in hardship, then let there be postponement until a time of ease.

For example 23: 1: " Successful indeed are the believers "; Sura 9: 14 " Fight them and God will punish them at your hands ... God will make you victorious over them "; 22: 40: " God will certainly aid those who aid His ( cause ): for verily God is Full of Strength, Exalted in Might.

The religious practice is mentioned for the first time by Natronai ben Hilai, Gaon of the Academy of Sura in Babylonia, in 853 C. E., who describes it as a custom of the Babylonian Jews and further explained by Jewish scholars in the ninth century by that since the Hebrew word geber ( Gever ) means both " man " and " rooster " the rooster may act or serve as a palpable substitute as a religious vessel in place of the man with the practice also having been as a custom of the Persian Jews.

Half a century later Rav Saadia Gaon, also of Sura, composed a siddur, in which the rubrical matter is in Arabic.

It is interesting to note the similarity between the Arabic word Sura and the South Asian word Sutra.

In the round chamber, which is below the entrance to the shaft, there are three stone slabs, the middle one of which contains a partial inscription of Sura 2, verse 255, from the Qur ' an, the famous Ayatul Kursi, Verse of the Throne.

On the evidence of Lucian, the Parthians still held the southern, Roman bank of the Euphrates ( in Syria ) as late as 163 ( he refers to a battle at Sura, which is on the southern side of the river ).

The most detailed account of the annunciation and birth of Jesus is provided in Sura 3 and 19 of The Qur ' an wherein it is written that God sent an angel to announce that she could shortly expect to bear a son, despite being a virgin.

It is stated in the Qur ' an ( Sura: Adh-Dhariyat ( The Wind that Scatter ) verse: 22 ) that one's sustenance is pre-determined in heaven when the Lord says: " And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised.

Other divinities with whom the term " Ahuric " is associated include the six Amesha Spentas and ( notable among the lesser yazatas ) Aredvi Sura of The Waters and Ashi of Reward and Recompense.

No distinct families of the Bruttii appear under the Republic, during which the only cognomen is Sura.

This Christian story is recounted by Islam and appears in a famous Sura of the Koran, Sura Al-Kahf.
