A total of three coupés and a convertible were made between 1964 and 1966, but due to financial problems the rights on the car finally went to a TVR dealer, W. J.

In the 1960s, American motor dealer Jack Griffith decided to put a 4. 7 litre V8 engine from an AC Cobra he owned into a TVR Grantura, in much the same way that V8s were first transplanted into AC Cobras.

State-owned TVR and the private stations Pro TV and Antena 1 command the lion's share of viewing, however there is a large number of smaller, private stations, some of them part of local networks.

The state broadcaster, TVR, operates a second national network, TVR 2, and a pan-European satellite channel.

Broadcast television is very limited because of the high penetration of cable, only TVR 1, TVR 2, Antena 1 and Pro TV are available as analogue broadcasts.

In some areas, only TVR 1 is available, and in others, there is no broadcast signal while there are cable operators.

After the fall of the communist regime, in 1989, there were only two state owned TV channels available ( see TVR ), one only being available in about 20 % of the country.

Several sports car producers such as Lotus and TVR started as kit car makers.

Among the local television stations in the city, TVR Cluj ( public ) and One TV ( private ) broadcast regionally, while the others are restricted to the metropolitan area.

Another British manufacturer, TVR, took a different approach in their Cerbera model.

TVR was an independent British manufacturer of sports cars.

TVR sports cars are composed of tubular steel frames, cloaked in fibreglass bodywork.

TVR's two arms were TVR Engineering, which manufactures sports cars and grand tourers, and TVR Power, their powertrain division.

In July 2012, owner Nikolay Smolensky announced that despite analysing various potential plans to create a new car, building a new TVR model was not going to be financially viable, thus bringing TVR's existence as a car manufacturer to an end.

As a result, Wilkinson with partner Jack Pickard then started a separate company, TVR Engineering, with a name derived from Wilkinson's name – TreVoR.

In 1954, TVR Engineering was renamed TVR, in light of the launch of the first " production " car called the Mk1, later name Grantura.

At Le Mans in June 1962 on a very hot day a TVR was entered as # 31 with 1. 6 litre BMC engine but retired after only 3 laps with loss of coolant.

The largest modern passenger-car straight-sixes are the 4. 2 L powerplants found in several Jaguars and AMCs, the 4. 3 L Hemi Six, the 4. 0 TVR Speed Six, the 4. 0 Ford Barra, the 4. 1 Chevrolet 250, the 4. 2 Chevrolet Vortec 4200, 4. 2 L Toyota Land Cruiser ( Diesel ), 4. 9 Ford, 4. 5 and 4. 8 Nissan, 4. 8 Chevrolet, and the 5. 0L of Hudson H-145 ( produced until 1957 ).

At one point the use of 4. 2 L TVR engines cars in F3000 chassis was discussed as a possible British F2, but this did not materialise.

1988 TVR S The V6 S Series cars used Ford's Cologne V6 in 2. 8 L, 160 hp ( S ) and 2. 9 L, 170 hp ( S2-S4 ) forms.

The Trent Valley Railway ( TVR ), which connected the London and Birmingham Railway ( L & BR ) at with the Grand Junction Railway ( GJR ) at, was formed on 21 July 1845 and opened on 15 September 1847, and included a station at Lichfield ; in the meantime, the L & BR, GJR and Manchester and Birmingham Railway had amalgamated in July 1846 as the London and North Western Railway ( LNWR ), which itself absorbed the TVR later in 1846.

TVR developed the Speed Six into the limited-production V12 Speed Twelve racing engine.

The TVR Speed Twelve engine is the name of a V12 engine manufactured by TVR for use in the TVR Speed 12 race car, and later the TVR Cerbera Speed Twelve road car in which on the Cerbera Speed 12 went into production.

A second channel, TVR2, was created in 1968 ( at that time it was simply called " Programul 2 ", the second channel and the old TVR became the first channel, " Programul 1 ").

* In Romania, the show called " Mari Români " ( Great Romanians ) started in May 2006 ; on 8 July, Televiziunea Română ( TVR ) presented the 100 Greatest Romanians, and on 21 October the Greatest Romanian of all the times.

This engine, designed by John Ravenscroft, became known as the TVR Speed Six engine, and powers current TVRs.

The TVR Speed Six was the name of a normally aspirated straight-6 engine manufactured by TVR, and used in several of their cars including the TVR Tuscan, TVR Cerbera, TVR Tamora, TVR T350, TVR Sagaris, and TVR Typhon.

In addition to diesel buses, Nancy has been served by trolleybuses since 1982, but in 2000 the three-route trolleybus system was reconfigured into a single, longer route and with a surface guidance system added ( GLT, or TVR in French ).

The engine was installed in the TVR White Elephant, a prototype car built for Wheeler by John Ravenscroft.

Whilst an interesting engineering and styling exercise, the Holden powered TVR White Elephant was later superseded by the Rover V8 powered Griffith prototype.

Perhaps more significantly, Wheeler was instrumental in the body design of TVR cars during his ownership.

On 8 October 2007 it was found that Smolensky was still in control of the company and was hoping to restart production, with a target of 2, 000 cars to be sold in 2008. and on 11 July TVR announced the relaunching of the Sagaris as the Sagaris 2, at its new centre near Wesham in Lancashire, though this did not happen and the company took no action for another two years.

Boss Juergen Mohr said “ Having been a TVR owner, I think this will be the best TVR ever .” He also confirmed the company was planning new models, possibly with alternative drivetrains.

In late 2011, the TVR website was relaunched offering " reborn " TVR's.

In a 2006 Romanian national television campaign on TVR 1 ( see Mari Români ), Stephen III was voted by almost 40, 000 viewers as the " Greatest Romanian " of all times.

Working in London for Robbie Gordon and James Boothby he was offered a drive in June 1965 in a TVR Grantura.

With this car Gerry enhanced his blossoming reputation and photographers rushed out of their usual hiding spots whenever he was on track and got dramatic pictures of Gerry driving the TVR in his now customary sideways fashion.

With Martin Lilley now being in charge of TVR Engineering ( him and his father had rescued TVR from bankruptcy ) Gerry's racing plans for 1967 seemed to naturally revolve around TVR, the TVR Griffith seemingly ideal, especially with the planned 400 bhp 5. 3 litre Ford V8, the possibility of the 1-litre TVR Tina ( named after Gerry's eldest daughter and one of the two prototypes is owned by the Marshall family ), the TVR 18010S a Lotus Elan and there was also a plan to go into partnership with Ken Ayres in a hot Mini 850.
