The Weinstein Company ( TWC ) is an American film studio founded by Bob and Harvey Weinstein in 2005 after the brothers left the then-Disney-owned Miramax Films, which they had co-founded in 1979.

The Weather Channel ( TWC ) is an American cable and satellite television network that, since May 2, 1982, broadcasts weather forecasts and weather-related news, along with entertainment programming related to weather such as Storm Stories, 24 hours a day.

In addition to its programming on the cable channel, TWC also provides forecasts for terrestrial and satellite radio stations, newspapers, and websites, and maintains an extensive online presence at weather. com.

IntelliStar is the fifth generation successor to the WeatherStar systems used by the American cable TV and satellite TV channel The Weather Channel ( TWC ), for inserting local forecasts and current weather information ( such as the " Local on the 8s " portion of their program schedule ) into TWC's programming.

Miramax and TWC also said they will partner on new television shows and special edition home entertainment releases.

But on the September 14, 2012 issue of the newly redesigned USA Today, rival AccuWeather replaced TWC as the paper's weather provider.

However even before its debut, the series and its network were beset by controversy when a 53d WRS member, Captain ( Major select ) Nicole L. Mitchell, an ARWO and on-camera meteorologist for TWC from July 2004 to January 2011, revealed on 4 June 2012 that she had filed suit 9 September 2011 in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia against The Weather Channel and its owners, NBC Universal and two private equity firms, Bain Capital and the Blackstone Group, claiming that the termination of her employment in 2010 was discriminatory and in violation of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act of 1994.

Other ABC stations in markets served by Time Warner Cable, such as New York City, Los Angeles, and Raleigh / Durham, were also affected by the outage as well before the FCC forced TWC to restore service to those areas on May 2.

The sketch is a parody and play on words of the World of Sport wrestling, which had been repeated on TWC Fight!

In some episodes, the old TWC logo ( 1996-2005 ) was used during the question at the end, which is most difficult to stretch the current TWC logo on the lower display line of the Weather Star XL or IntelliStar, and after the credits, they used the old 2003 graphic of The Weather Channel logo before a one-minute Local Forecast.

WeatherStar ( sometimes rendered Weather Star or WeatherSTAR ) ( meaning Satellite Transponder Addressable Receiver ) refers to the technology used by The Weather Channel ( TWC ) to generate their Local Forecast segments ( currently known as Local on the 8s ) on cable TV systems nationwide.

It would ( like subsequent Weather Star units ) receive local weather data from TWC and the National Weather Service via data encoded in the vertical blanking interval of TWC's video, as well as receiving extra data from a subcarrier transmitted above TWC's video and audio signals on its transponder on satellite.

From 1989 to 1992, The Weather Network / MétéoMedia in Canada ( which are equivalents of TWC ) used Weather Star III technology to display local forecasts, which were on a sky blue background, a colour TWC's units did not use.

On October 30, 2008, the FCC's Media Bureau ordered TWC to launch MASN on the analog tier of its North Carolina systems within 30 days, denying all of Time Warner Cable's motions in its appeal.

In the Memorandum Opinion and Order, it was revealed that in addition to offering carriage to MASN on digital basic, TWC had " inquired into MASN's willingness to agree to carriage of MASN on an analog tier only in its Eastern North Carolina systems ".

Satellite, IPTV and some small cable system viewers originally saw only a roundup of local TWC forecasts for major cities across the U. S., as well as satellite and radar images, and severe weather watch and warning maps when active.

TWC provides numerous customized forecasts for online users, including home and garden and event planning forecasts.

Cell phone customers can even have their local forecast sent to their mobile handsets from TWC via SMS by sending a text message with their ZIP code to 42278 which spells 4cast.

Other services include Yahoo !, in which the weather pages are produced by TWC.

TWC continued showing the movie while it was giving special " dual-feed " updates to Intellistar units in the area, but much of the affected area was rural and had legacy STAR systems ( WeatherSTAR XLs, 4000s etc.

Also in 2002, Paramount offered Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, TWC offered Hoodwinked !, and Columbia produced Open Season.
