The Deity of the Sun in Chinese mythology is Ri Gong Tai Yang Xing Jun ( Tai Yang Gong / Grandfather Sun ) or Star Lord of the Solar Palace, Lord of the Sun.

King Mangrai was born on October 2, 1238 in Ngoen Yang, ( present day Chiang Saen ), in Thailand on the Mekong River, as the son of the local ruler Lao Meng and his wife Ua Ming Chommueang, a princess from the Tai Lue city of Chiang Rung, which is now called Jinghong, in Sipsongpanna ( Xishuangbanna ), Yunnan, China.

The four gatehouses were named: " Chin Shan " ( 襟山 ) for East, " Tai Hai " ( 帶海 ) for West, " Chung Yang " ( 崇陽 ) for South, and " Kung Chen " ( 拱辰 ) for North.

In 1982 Yang Zhen Duo founded the Shanxi Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association, and has served as President since.

In October 1998, Yang Zhen Duo founded the International Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association, serving as Chairman of the Board.

Prior to the arrival of the Tai people and culture into what is now Thailand, the region hosted a number of indigenous Mon-Khmer and Malay civilizations.

The most recent and accurate theory about the origin of the Tai people stipulates that Guangxi province in China is really the Tai motherland instead of Yunnan province.

Around 700 AD, Tai people who did not come under Chinese influence settled in what is now Dien Bien Phu in modern Vietnam according to the Khun Borom legend.

However, one interesting note is that a Tai army was shown as a part of Lavo army, a century before the establishment of the Sukhothai kingdom.

Zhou Tai was a native of Jiujiang Commandery, and was depicted as a pirate around the area in Luo Guanzhong's historical novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but it is hard to tell if he really practiced piracy because historic records only suggest he was of an obscure origin.

But actually these accounts reveal the supernatural powers that the masters were in fact supposed to possess, as well as the extreme degree of popular credulity: `` Hwang Pah ( O Baku ), one day going up Mount Tien Tai which was believed to have been inhabited by Arhats with supernatural powers, met with a monk whose eyes emitted strange light.

They appear to be the autochthonous languages of Southeast Asia, with the neighboring Indic, Tai, Dravidian, Austronesian, and Tibeto-Burman languages being the result of later migrations ( Sidwell & Blench, 2011 ).
