Between 1992 and 2008, the 1st, 2nd and 16th Jungle Infantry Brigades, the 3rd Infantry Battalion, the 19th Logistics Battalion, and the 22nd Army Police Platoon were transferred by the Army from the states of Rio de Janeiro and Rio Grande do Sul to the Amazon region in accordance with the friendship policy with Argentina.

The 2nd Infantry Battalion appears to have been based at Daloa for some time.

From summer 2011, Operation Licorne, the French force, previously over 5, 000 strong, is roughly 700, and consists of Licorne headquarters, Battalion Licorne ( BATLIC ), seemingly made up of elements of the 2nd Marine Infantry Regiment and the Régiment d ' infanterie-chars de marine, and a helicopter detachment.

The 1st and 2nd Battalion, 48th Infantry were mechanized infantry units assigned to the 3rd Armored Division ( 3AD ) in West Germany during the Cold War.

The first two regular battalions of the Fiji Infantry Regiment are traditionally stationed overseas on peacekeeping duties ; the 1st Battalion has been posted to Lebanon, Iraq, and East Timor under the command of the UN, while the 2nd Battalion is stationed in Sinai with the MFO.

3rd Battalion of Infantry, 4th Battalion of Infantry and 6th Battalion of Infantry in the Northern Command, 1st Battalion of Infantry, 2nd Battalion of Infantry and 5th Battalion of Infantry in the Southern Command.

He was promoted temporary captain on 15 November 1914 and permanent captain in the newly-raised 2nd Battalion on 7 February the following year.

He then returned to 2nd Battalion as a company officer and, in January 1916, received the Military Cross for his bravery at Loos.

He became a permanent major on 1 August 1917 and was again promoted acting lieutenant-colonel, this time confirmed as Commanding Officer of 2nd Battalion Irish Guards, on 15 October.

He once again commanded 2nd Battalion at Hazebrouck in April 1918, where which it took such severe casualties that it saw no further action.

Following the coronation celebration, Alexander returned to India, where he was made the honorary colonel of the 3rd Battalion 2nd Punjab Regiment, and then in October 1937 was promoted to the rank of major-general, making Alexander the youngest general in the British Army.

Upon completion of The Basic School at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, in October 1967, he was ordered to the Republic of Vietnam, where he served as a platoon and company commander with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marines.

In November 1974, he received orders to report to the 3rd Marine Division at MCB Camp Butler, Okinawa, Japan, where he served as the commander of Company H, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marines, until December 1975.

In 1992 the 1st Battalion, Royal Green Jackets was disbanded, and the KRRC were renumbered as the 1st Battalion, with the 3rd Battalion ( former Rifle Brigade ) becoming the 2nd Battalion.

This uprising led to the 1st Armored Division's Task Force 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor ( 2-37 AR ) attached to the 2 Armored Cavalry Regiment ( 2ACR ) arriving in the city in the wake of the Spanish withdrawal.

During World War II, the 6th, 8th, 9th, 24th, 25th, 30th, 32nd, 33rd, 37th, 41st, 43rd, 77th and 98th Infantry Divisions were assigned to I Corps at one time or another, along with the 2nd Marine Division, 7th Australian Division, and elements of the 11th Airborne Division.

In 2011, the Chinese University of Hong Kong was ranked 37th in the world, 2nd in Hong Kong and 5th in Asia by QS World University Rankings but the QS department of Asian University rankings which releases an independent list each year ranked the CUHK 3rd in Hong Kong and 5th in Asia.

Following the end of that session, the bill was reintroduced as C-250 in the 37th Parliament, 2nd Session.

2nd Battalion, 37th Armor along with the Brigade HQ proper remained deployed to Rose Barracks for the duration of the conflict.

Liga, the club was close to promotion, but a loss 3: 4-loss against Carl Zeiss Jena on the 37th matchday earned them a fall from 2nd to 4th place, and a prolonged stay in the 3rd league.

During this time, some of the lessons learned in combat in North Africa by the 1st Armored Division and 2nd Armored Division were taught to the 37th Armor.

2nd Battalion ( less Company D ) was absorbed into the 37th Tank Battalion.

2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment

The 2nd Battalion of 37th Armor regiment was deactivated on April 2007.

Company B of the 37th Tank Battalion became the nucleus in April, 1957 for the 2nd Medium Tank Battalion ( Patton ) 37th Armor ( 2 – 37 AR ) and the battalion was assigned to the 2nd Armored Division in Germany.

The 2nd Battalion, 37th Armor then moved to Panzer Kaserne, Boeblingen, Germany.

Nicknamed Iron Dukes, the 2nd Battalion, 37th Armored Regiment was deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003.

The city and its fortified sourroundings were encircled 13 September – 16 October 1944 by the US 1st Infantry Division and 3rd Armored Division in conjunction with the US 2nd Armored Division and 30th Infantry Division during the prolonged Battle of Aachen, later reinforced by US 28th Infantry Division elements.

This unit was originally organized as the Second Dragoon Regiment in 1836 and was renamed the Second Cavalry Regiment in 1860, being redesignated as the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in the 1960s.

Following attendance at the Artillery Officer Advanced Course, he was assigned to the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment in West Germany in 1973, where he commanded the 1st Squadron Howitzer Battery and served as Squadron S-3.

Versailles is also an important military center, with several units and training schools headquartered at the Satory military base, which was the headquarters of the famed 2nd French Armored Division until 1999, and where a military exhibition is organized annually.

This led to the activation of the 1st and 2nd Armored Divisions in 1940.

Colonel Patton was given command of the 2nd Armored Brigade, US 2nd Armored Division in July 1940.

He was promoted to major general on April 4 and made commanding general of the 2nd Armored Division seven days later.

The city itself was liberated by the French 2nd Armored Division under French General Leclerc, insurgents who were fighting in the city, and the US 4th Infantry Division.

The French 2nd Armored Division had recently been transferred from the 3rd Army, and many of the unit's soldiers believed they were still part of the latter.

The 56th Rifle Corps consisting of the 79th Rifle Division, the 2nd Rifle Brigade, the 5th Rifle Brigade and the 214 Armored Brigade attacked the Japanese 88th Division.

The Champs-Élysées, because of its size and proximity to several Parisian landmarks such as the Arc de Triomphe, has been the site of several notable military parades, the most infamous being the march of German troops celebrating the Fall of France on 14 June 1940, and the two most famous, the subsequent marches of Free French and American forces after the liberation of the city, respectively, the French 2nd Armored Division on 26 August 1944, and the U. S. 28th Infantry Division on 29 August 1944.

This Western Task Force consisted of the U. S. 2nd Armored Division and the U. S. 3rd and 9th Infantry Divisions — 35, 000 troops in a convoy of over 100 ships.

On 23 August 1944, prior to the liberation of Paris, General Charles de Gaulle arrived at Rambouillet and set up his headquarters in the castle where, in the evening, he met General Philippe Leclerc who, at the head of his French 2nd Armored Division ( 2e Division blindée, more affectionately known in France as La Deuxième DB ), had mission to liberate Paris.

Part of the French 2nd Armored Division was to leave from Rambouillet at dawn the following day, on its march " to capture Paris ".

The Free French 2nd Armored Division, under General Philippe Leclerc, landed in Normandy, and, in the waning days of summer 1944, they led the drive towards Paris.
