The AK10 was built using reverse-engineering from the Bantam GP.

Toyota developed a ½ ton prototype called the AK10 in 1942.

There is no mechanical relationship between the AK10 and the postwar Toyota " Jeep " BJ.

There are no known surviving photographs of the AK10.

The abbreviation cc is still commonly used in many fields including medical dosage and sizing for small combustion engine displacement, such as those used in motorcycles.

Dry centrifugal clutches are now used in many categories ( Rotax Max is one example ) and have become the norm as the top international classes have switched to 125 cc clutched engines as of January 2007.

A cubic centimetre ( or cubic centimeter in US English ) ( SI unit symbol: cm < sup > 3 </ sup >; non-SI abbreviations: cc and ccm ) is a commonly used unit of volume extending the derived SI-unit cubic metre, and corresponds to the volume of a cube measuring 1 cm × 1 cm × 1 cm.

Both of these latter two motorcycles used a variation of the Rotax 1000 cc V-Twin.

The 1953 Citroneta model of the 2CV made in Chile and Argentina used a type AZ chassis with 425 cc engine developing.

It used an 816 cc flat twin water-cooled engine of 6. 4 hp and three-speed gearbox with tiller steering.

The 2, 000 cc engine used a two barrel carburetor where just one bore was bigger than that used on the Maverick.

The 1172 cc straight-4 engine from the Ford Ten was fitted for some export markets, including North America, where imports began for model year 1948 ; these cars used the slightly more aerodynamic " three-hole " grille from the 1937-8 Ford Ten 7W, prefacing the 1949 E494A facelift.

The Ford Taunus G93A was a development of the Ford Eifel and used the same 1172 cc four cylinder engine but in a longer chassis and a streamlined body.

The P2 used an ohv engine with 1698 cc and 60 hp ( 44 kW ).

After absorbing Bond Cars in 1969, which had also been a maker of three-wheeler cars ( though in their case with Hillman Imp 875 cc rear engines ) Reliant used the Bond name for the iconic 1970s Bond Bug, a sporty three-wheeler designed by the Ogle designer Tom Karen.

Most of these quirky and distinctly British small cars used Europe's first mass-produced lightweight overhead valve aluminium alloy engine, initially 598 cc, but enlarged through the years to a final 848 cc in 1975.

However, in the past, there were numerous examples of larger inline-fours without balance shafts, such as the Citroën DS 23 2, 347 cc engine that was a derivative of the Traction Avant engine, the 1948 Austin 2, 660 cc engine used in the Austin-Healey 100 and Austin Atlantic, the 3. 3 L flathead engine used in the Ford Model A ( 1927 ), and the 2. 5 L GM Iron Duke engine used in a number of American cars and trucks.

These range from 2 -, 3-and 4-cylinder models generating 15 to 135 horsepower suitable for hulls up to in length, to powerful V6 and V8 cylinder blocks rated up to., with sufficient power to be used on boats of or longer.

Improved version T13 introduced as T26 with more powerful 4-cylinder flat air-cooled engine and in six-wheeler chassis created capable offroad light utility truck which later evolved in to T72 model which was heavily used by Czechoslovakian army at the time and was also manufactured under license by the French company Lorraine-Dietrich.

New high-performance models included the 3. 2 L VR6-engined four-wheel-drive Golf " R32 " introduced in 2004, its predecessor the 2. 8 L VR6-engined " Golf V6 4Motion " ( succeeding the 2. 9 L Mk3 " Golf VR6 Syncro "), as well as use of the famous 1. 8T ( turbo ) 4-cylinder used in various Volkswagen Group models.

The plane used a 4-cylinder piston engine to power a rotary compressor which was intended to propel the craft by a combination of suction at the front and airflow out the rear instead of using a propeller.

" Crossflow " is often used to refer specifically to Ford Motor Company's Kent Crossflow 4-cylinder OHV engine, and its short-block " Valencia " derivative which has been used in cars from the 1960s up to the present day, albeit with the addition of fuel injection and a modern engine management system.

The 4-cylinder cars suffered from reliability problems, thanks to the fragile Lucas fuel injection systems that Rover used.

The Centre Steer used a Rover 1. 6 litre 4-cylinder petrol engine of 50 horsepower ( 37 kW ).

The AE86 was available with a fuel-injected 4-cylinder twin-cam 1587 cc 4A-GE engine in Japan and Europe which was also used in the first-generation Toyota MR2 ( AW11 ).

* Lycoming O-360, 4-cylinder, introduced in 1955 and widely used ever since, formed the basis for the 540 and 720

i-VTEC VCM was also used in 1. 3L 4-cylinder engines used in Honda Civic Hybrid.

The series started as the NASCAR-sanctioned Baby Grand National as a four-cylinder series before adopting six-cylinder engines and full-size tires in 1998 ( as NASCAR had phased out six-cylinder engines in the Busch Series, and the series initially used tires smaller than their bigger counterparts ), and for 2010 Honda will make its debut in ISCARS DASH Touring with a 4-cylinder fuel-injected engine that is capable of producing 350 to 375 horsepower with a price that makes ISCARS even more affordable.
