Aberlemno is notable for the presence of four early Medieval Standing Stones, as well as a fifth that is currently on display at McManus Galleries.

Class I sculptured stones from Aberlemno and Strathmartine can be seen in the McManus Galleries in Dundee while the class I Dunnichen Stone is currently on loan to the Meffan Institute in Forfar.

Class II stones can be seen at Aberlemno and Glamis and a much-misinterpreted class III stone ( known locally as the Camus Cross ) can be found North of Carnoustie at Camuston Hill on Panmure Estate.

A class I stone can also be seen in situ at Aberlemno, and this stone appears to be a recycled neolithic stone, having cup and ring marks apparent on its side.

After the Meffan Institute had been renovated it was brought to Forfar on a long term loan where it is displayed alongside the Kirriemuir Sculptured Stones.

The Kirriemuir Sculptured Stones, a series of late Pictish cross slabs, are now on display at the Meffan Institute in Forfar.

Pictish sculptured stones at Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum | Meigle MuseumPictish remains are in abundance in this part of Scotland and one of the largest collections of Pictish sculptured stones is housed 5 miles to the East of the town at the Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum.

One of the stones, now in the Meigle Sculptured Stone Museum, is said to depict Vanora, the local name for Guinevere.
