In 2007, in honor of Moore's dedication to the Foundation, JDRF created the " Forever Moore " research initiative which will support JDRF's Academic Research and Development and JDRF's Clinical Development Program.

There are many opportunities for leadership development on campus, including positions as a Resident Assistant ( RA ), as an Orientation Leader ( OL ), on the school's student Judicial Board, as a Multicultural Academic Peer Program ( MAPP ) Mentor, within the active Student Government Association ( SGA ), and among the various Programs Boards.

One of the first programs launched by the newly introduced Center for Academic Advising and Testing was the Jump Start Program ( Summer 1998 ) – a month-long series of workshops designed to enhance both the academic and survival skills of new students.

In 2006, the college became a member of the HLC Academic Quality Improvement Program ( AQIP ).
